My cats were playing last night around 1 a.m. and suddenly one of them, jumped on the window of my kitchen and she felt down from the 4th floor. I went after her right away and brought her in the house. She seemed to be OK but while I was cleaning her from the mud she urinated and it was a very red, bloody urine. In my city, which happens to be a very large one, there are no vet clinics which provide night emergency interventions. So I went out to look for a pharmacy to but medicines for my cat. It was a crazy trip to do, since I found out that in such a huge city there is only one pharmacy opened during night time. So I crossed the whole city to get the meds. This morning I took the cat at my university and did her an X-Ray. She has nothing broken, but obviously there were some intern bleedings. Now I keep giving her treatment at home but she is still shocked and I am very worried. She is actually my mom's favorite cat and if she dies it would be horrible. I really can't believe that in 2012 year I am still helpless in a large city if my cat has an accident during the night time.

I am really touched by your post because here in our country, most people don't care about cats. I always feel so sad whenever I see stray cats. No one wants to feed them. They're just stealing food from trash or anywhere they can. I feel so worthless because I can't feed all of them. I can't take care of them. My heart never stops crying whenever I see these cats. I am going to pray for your cat's fast recovery. I hope she'll get well soon. Please give my regards to her. Please also tell her that she's so lucky to have you and your mom.

She is also a rescued cat because in my country there are also many stray cats and dogs. Thank you for the wishes. I feel stupid because in less than one year I will be a licensed vet, but right now I can't even eat because I fear for her life. It seems that the humans doctors are right. You can not treat your own family without breaking down.

Wow! I am glad to know that you'll be a licensed vet this year. Don't worry that much. Your cat will never like the idea that you're starving because of her.

Oh no. I hope everything's going to be fine with your cat. I think you have to bring your cat to the vet for regular check ups just to be sure. And maybe some pet therapy so she can get over the state of shock or trauma. I have four cats here at home and they love playing by the stairs. They keep on running up and down. So I guess I should not let them play by the stairs anymore to avoid what happened to your cat. I hope your cat will be better soon.

@ blessedsavie I am still giving her shots at home. The good thing is that she has no broken bones and she does not have bladder rupture. I will take her also for an abdominal ecography next week to be sure. She seems better and she has passed the shock already. She was spoiled these days and she managed to get over the shock. Take care of your cats. They tend to act as naughty kids. @41CombedaleRoad Thank you for the nice words. I do hope that she still has 8 lives. She was lucky, because at her 9 years old the damage could have been bigger.

I'm thinking about the nine lives attributed to a cat. I hope your little pet has still got 8 left. You will be a marvellous vet, congrats on such a wonderful choice of career.

I have cats and I know how awful you must have felt about your kitty; I am glad you were able to get something for her. I hope she will be alright. I have two kitties and know how I worry when they are not all well .

That is really unfortunate that they do not have an ememergecy vet clinic open in your city. They have ones about an hour from me but it is so very costly to take them there on an emergency visit. I really hope that your cat will be ok that is so sad what happened to her.

The emergency interventions are very expensive indeed, but I would feel more comfortable to know that even though I spend all my money I have where to go. The cat is better and I hope she will be healthy and happy for the next years.

Augh, I'm so sorry to hear about the incident your cat had! I'm glad nothing was broken at least. Hope she's going to be okay. It's really sad there are no vet clinics available during the night. I'm actually worried about that myself, for own cat. I worry - what should I do if something happened to her at night? But I think I could probably call the animal ambulance service. Knowing help is available immediately would be such a relief!

We had an animal clinic which was performing night service and ambulance, but they don't do that anymore. At the university where I study there is a night service, but only during the time when the school is opened. Now we are still in vacation, so the guard service was not opened. It is a real crazy thing to have to get in charge without the necessary things available.

I hope now you've he got a cat treatment. Hopefully he does not bleed anymore when he urinated. Fell from the 4th floor must give a heavy impact for your cat, there may be organ in his body that injured, hopefully he'll get well soon. Not only in your city, in the city where I live there is not even a special place to take care of pets.
