Hi if they want some kind of cooking business here one to check in to the personal chef business 1 you do not have to be a professal chef to do it 2 you go to the busy customer home and cook like 10 entree or more for the week you only go the cutomer home onece a week the avreage charge is around$ 200.us plus cost of food the next day your at other customer home look it up on line since the person cooking in the cutomer home there a lot of thing not need like if you have a resturant all food has to be cook in customers home now if you kids are still in school they should see if there any kind of cooking program that they can do that will teach them a lot look up personal chef in your area and see if there old enough to be there shodow then you learn the low cost of food the personal chef should have a manger serf save cerficate it would help get sales even it not needed ok have a good day

When you tend to open a business in foods, you must take note of the lowly people first, because most people around are from this category. You could start a business in congee(lugao)which is so versatile when you try to mix it with different kinds of flavorings like beef, chicken, asado, lechon kawale, tokwa, itlog, goto, dugo,or anything you wanted to mix your congee so that the appetite of the customers would not diminished with so many flavors to chose from the list of flavors.Do not waste your time start your business and am sure many people would like my idea.It is cool, very simple, needs only a small capital, yet you must be energetic and have lots of understanding in dealing with different kinds of people

Hello sunshine and welcome to myLot. I think that your boys should look at the cooking show Diner, drive ins and dives. It is on the food channel. The host travels around the country visiting these diner, drive-ins and dives that people suggest that he should visit. They should also study those businesses such as McDonald, Jimmie Johns and all of those small businesses that they can find. Then look around to see what ethnic foods are being sold in your area. Then they should chose one and make it the best that can be found.

i think it is easier to start if they will use your home first, they will be able to get to familiarized with the business without being risky, we used to cook food for the employees of an hotel near our place, we take orders to avoid not to cook more than what is needed for a day to avoid stocking food...

hey sunshinefame, you guys can start with your family traditional dish or you can startup with burgers or frenchfries, or can just bake some thing like biscuits of muffins and provide a complementary to your neighbours so that they can place an order later. hope it could be of some help to you.

One safe approach on going on a food business or any business is buying a franchise, with this you can use another firm's successful model, and can use their business name/s. And if you want to make it on your own, the best thing you can do is to scout all food businesses around/near your place or place where you want to put your business. Take note of all their menus and preferably taste them. The best strategy in business is knowing your competitors.

Hi sunshinefame, I think pizzas are a really good option as they dont take much time and have a huge demand. Maybe you can start with sandwiches and burgers and then add pizzas and pasta to the menu..? good luck with your venture!
