cell phone contracts

Just negotiated a new contract with my mobile phone operator. I fancied the Samsung galaxy2 that my operator was charging £25/ month for but others were cheaper so we went into negotiation and got it down to £23 but then I was told there would be a delivery charge. Throwing my toys out of the pram and stating that the other supplier was delivering free and to forget the deal the salesman on the other end of the phone said hold on and went to see his boss. The result £20.50 a month and free delivery. That's what I call a deal. By the way fantastic phone without buying apple.

Why didn't they come clean and tell you the bottom price at the first? They didn't get it down to £20.50 a month until you came to the point where you lost your temper. It stands to reason that they would charge you for £ 25 or £ 23 if you didn't drive a hard bargain.

I doubt whether the £ 20.5 was the bottom price.Everyone has to get on the ball when they deal with these merchants.

Just what I said, they managed to find a contract at almost exactly what I was prepared to pay when it got to the point where I was prepared to turn my back.

oh, it is good you are able to negotiate contracts with your cellular provider. in our contracts with cell phone companies here in the Philippines the company drives and offers specific contract month and cellular phones for each plan package you would avail. So there is no option for customers but to choose for the plan offerings and there is no negotiation with the contract terms =(

There is not supposed to be negotiation here either but they don't want you to leave them so if you tell them what you want and what you are prepared to pay and push for it. Some times it pays to walk away and then they get the idea.

At least the operator from your service provider allow you to negotiate with him and willing to finalize on a deal that make both of you happy at the end of the day. It usually doesn't happen to big telecommunication company provided wireless services plan. It is either you enroll in the provider specific carrier plan or hit the high way on your own. Letting you to negotiate and land yourself in a deal you feel good about is not a common practice in the telecommunication industry on mobile phone services. I am glad your Samsung galaxy service provider is willing to take it further down the road in order to retain you as a customer, that is the way to go for consumer, only you can help yourself in seeking the best deal from those wireless carriers. Just be careful of all those hidden charges come with your monthly bill, one thing i can assure you is that there are always many hidden fees and miscellaneous charges come with telecomunication service providers in the inudstry.

Network operators have plenty of room to negotiate and if they don't then we can take our business.

That was really a great deal. I also bought last month Samsung Galaxy Tablet-pc (without phone functions) at lower price. They are offering treats for customers since they are considered to be the leading mobile brand here. We are lucky that we got it with almost 15% discount.

It was a very good deal but network operators don't lose out.

Phone contracts are the worst, there are always additional charges for stuff that should be included in the package and not add on's. The premiums are high enough without all the extras that we don't benefit from. Service charges, taxes and miscellaneous fees. Glad you got a great deal!
