Hi Mylotters! I'm sure you would say you felt sorry (sad) but it's part of life. I would also like to know what you did to get over wrong decisions? How did it affect your everyday life?

Sooner or later everyone makes a bad decision. Hopefully, as you get older, these bad decisions become less. Because you have learned to make better decisions. So it's not a total loss. Bad advice is usually unintentional. But it happens. You make a decision to do something then you have to live with the consequences. How you react to this is important. You learn and move on, knowing better for the next time. But your friend, who dwells on bad decisions made, will take much longer to get over these bumps on the road of life. It's not good to dwell on the bad side of things. Keep trying to convince him/her that they are not helping themselves by doing this. By dwelling on things you are holding yourself back from experiencing more of life while you're young and still have opportunities.

Whatever advice i get i dont necessarily have to follow. my decision can be influenced by others but i do not blame them if things didn't turn out good. i just take it as another lesson learned

Right. Experience is always the best teacher and you learn from mistakes more.

I have felt very disappointed when I took advice that did not get the results I wanted. However, I do not tend to dwell on the them for too long. My feelings of disappointment usually lasts for the day. After a good night's rest, I feel better because the next day is a new day. Life has its ups and downs, but you should not let all the discouraging things in life overwhelm you.

Good to know. I just feel sorry for a friend of mine who dwells on wrong decisions for too long no matter how much you explain how life is.. Well, yeah life goes on.

I have this one instance in my life where in I followed everything my friend says. I took all her advice, followed all her commands, dis all she asked me to because she said it was for my own good. But eventually this friend of mine left me hanging in the air. I got in trouble, all my other friends hated me, and that friend of mine was nowhere to be found. What's worse is that she eventually turned the other way around and became an enemy for some reasons I don't even know and can't even explain. It was a big trauma for me. I do feel regrets sometimes why I let her direct my life. But nothing I can do now. I just moved on and take the lesson I've learned with me. It's okay to ask for others advice or opinions, but we have to be sure that we don't lose our inner voice. We still have to believe in ourselves and we must always ask God's guidance in every step of the way.

Woah! That's really something. I hope it doesn't happen to her.. Good to know you have found a way to move on and learnt from it.

That's only why I don't take advises. I do what I feel like doing, if it turns out to be wrong, I don't feel like what if I had not done that or what if I had this.

There is saying that to be good to our own selves is to give room for mistakes. It is not healthy to live life being so hard at our own selves. It is really a fact that at times we make mistakes in one way or another. However, this should not be the baseline of your total perspective about life afterwards.

Of course it felt bad when we ask advise and no one give us a good one. We felt bad when no one seems to listen. Sometimes prayer is the best answer when people around you doesn't seems to care.

Hi, It is not necessary that all advices should work exactly as it is. Receiving advice and giving advice also many not provide the required results and in such cases, we need to go for a second opinion or reconsider with alternate solutions. Any way we feel sorry or disappointed, but no need to worry over again and again as we can go for the better options with different choices.
