I wanted to work on crafts this morning but first I had to make sure the dishes were done and the house all picked up. Why? The only reason I can think of was that my mother made us have the house all cleaned before we got to do anything that is fun! I am not young so this message has been carried around in my head for many years! So the house is cleaned...the dishes all done and put away and the laundry is almost done so now....I can go craft. There are many thing my parents taught me that I still carry around in my head....so .....Do you hear those voices?

I do once in awhile but moreso from my father than my mother. Actually I had no chores when I was home living with my parents. Being the youngest child and the only girl might have had something to do with it plus I wasn't home much because of my love of sports. I was involved in so many sporting activities. I do remember my dad's voice and or opinion of chatting about religion or politics when in a group of people. He always said this is not a good idea. It is so much easier to do a craft when I can relax and not have laundry or dishes hanging over my head. Crafts take me away to another place and make me so relaxed. Sometimes my craft makes me sleepy.

I do still hear those voices. I guess there are some things that are just instilled in us. We used to have Saturday house cleaning days. I still have those. I have tried to get away from that over the years but I somehow always come back to that day. I also sporadically remember stuff when faced with certain situations that I was taught when I was younger. I

Oh yes I do. Every time I find my sister reading in dim light I turn on a lamp or I fear my mom will haunt us both! But I get the opposite feeling when I try to fold sheets. In fact I said aloud , "Mom don't look!" the first time I attempted it, lol!

Yeah, too often and too long. They even carry over into my sleep time. I was raised by a very strict aunt who didn't have a shred of sympathy for a neice and nephew who were emotionally scarred from being torn away from their mother, placed in a foster home and then had to be put into an orphanage. I never did understand why she took us to live with her. Maybe for the money.

I honestly can't say that I hear voices like you've been describing. However, as my daughter is getting a little bit older, I do find that I am telling her many of the same things that my parents said to me when I was her age. For example, she has been bringing home her papers from school and I will tell her that she can do better, despite the fact that she is bringing home hundred percents. And I tell the kids that they have to help clean up much like my mother did as well.

That's strange, my mom was not a good housekeeper, but I am like that, I have to clean my house before I begin to write, I can't write with a dirty house. I wonder if my kids "hear this voice" because I wanted the house clean before we did many things..

Hi jill, yes, I do almost the same if I have time. Sometimes it's a spur of the moment run out the door and then I don't have time to do everything I would have liked to do. But, for the most part, I do straighten everything up, get the dishes done, do my laundry, etc., before I do my fun stuff. I like the fun stuff to last a long time so then I don't have to think about nothing else. Now I know what those voices are, whew!

I do, but I tend to ignore them, just like I did when I was a kid. I do the same thing with my kids, they have to do chores and homework before they can do anything fun. Yesterday I didn't let 3 of my kids go to a soccer game with me because their chores/rooms weren't cleaned. What a mean mommy I am!

Oh, yes my mom always had/has a clean house. I never realized how that affected the way my house needed to be clean. It makes it much nicer to do things or have friends over once all the house cleaning is done. Also, learned from my parents that if you don't have anything nice to say to a person then don't say anything. Also, to always wear clean undies, because you never know when you might be in an accident. lol Or when you leave for a vacation, always remember to make sure everything is off, because if you don't you'll always be too worried about if you left something on to enjoy your vacation.

Yes my friend, I do the same thing. Everything I've learned from the house, I apply it through my daily life activity.
