A customer & a cashier

I was sitting in a coffee shop taking a little break from work & a girl came in & sat few seats down from me with a cup of coffee... She was on her cell phone & she was talking loud enough I could hear her side of the conversation... I was about to get up & walk away & I hear her say, "Yeah... She got his name off of credit card receipt & just friend requested him on Facebook... Now they're going back & forth messaging each other... They were talking about how she just waited on him...". Really? The girl that was on the phone looked barely over 20... Is that what kids do now? Pick up guys, or girls, off of names on credit card? I mean, whoever she was talking to, I'll giver a credit for being original but geesh... That could've been frowned upon for so many reasons... Getting a name off of credit card & finding the person on facebook... Am I that old? Is that how it works now or does anybody else find this situation a bit odd?

thats funny and scary, Thats why im scared of using credit card though, specially that the entire card number is in the card knowing that we also have our signature at the back of the card as they can just simply use it with the name, card number and the last 3 at the back and all details is already on that card so i wonder if credit card company can just hide the numbers and just show the last 4 of it, though i guess those girls whose into the card name things are those whose into money matter, like if they can ask a lot of things knowing that the guys have credit card hehe.

Wow, something about those coffee shops today... Anyway, this isn't that rare. Uncommon, but not rare. She might have seen him, waited on him, thought he was cute, wanted to know who he was, so she checked his credit card and receipt and decided to check him out on Facebook. I have to give her credit because she's not letting her chance at a relationship with this guy get away from her. This has been done before. If she wants to be with this guy, then she is really taking those first steps, but he will probably see her again if he comes to that place enough.

Odd? I find it just so, soooo sad Apart from all of the privacy aspects (here the card holder would be able to take legal action for breach of privacy) but also the possible danger that she is placing herself in by contacting someone that she has only seen and, other than the name, knows nothing about the person (who could take advantage of the situation). My grandson of two and a half is used to having the television on all the time at his home and is able to work his father's IPhone and knows where/how to access the cartoons. When he is at mine we play with old-fashioned things (boats ina bowl of water and cardboard tunnels for his push-and-go cars) in the hope that, while he is growing up, he will be awrae that there is more to life than electronics and internet I dread to think what life will be like in 10, 20 or 50 years from now and I am perfectly happy that I won't be around to know about it.

That could have gone so wrong. I mean originality points sure, but they could have easily gone on and stolen the guys indentity. I think if someone found me, and messaged me like that I'd be very angry and tell them to buzz off and that I'd be calling their employer as well.

After reading your thread here, I'm sure I'm really old. I miss the old time when everything more descent and easy. I have 2 daughters, I will ask them if they ever start dating (which is few years more) they have to start it the normal way.

I guess that girl is just looking for a trouble. If I were the man, I would ask her how did she get my name? I only bought something using my credit card and I haven't talked to her and didn't give her any personal information. That kind of girl isn't worth any attention. He needs to change his credit card number and block her from his Facebook account. LOL. It's good to be cautious at times. Happy mylotting.

Wow, that's a first in hearing someone doing something like that. But personally I think that would seem kind of stalkerish and creepy to me. That would creep me out if someone got my name off of my credit card that was checking me out at a cash register and then look me up on facebook. It would make me wonder if they got any other information as well, like my credit card number and if they would be using it. Well, I feel bad for that one guy then and maybe hope he changes his credit card number and cancel that one. Interesting how people make friends and find dates now.

Hi friend, i wonder why the girl is talking loudly with her phone in a public place with her customer, as you mentioned she is talking about the credit card details, some other persons also have the ability to hear the message and know about the bank and credit card, better to avoid this kind of activities in a public place to avoid unwanted issues in the life

Wow that is odd...and weird! I mean how and why on earth did her friend get her hands on a credit card receipt? Shouldn't that be kept by the shop who processed his payment, and the duplicate kept by the credit card holder? What's next, looking for phone bills? She is creative that's for sure, but it is being channeled and used in a very compromising way. And also just because they started messaging each othe doesn't mean that that guy isn't a psycho or something. She should be more cautious, she got to be smarter than that if she can think of something like this.
