From the IMDB data, it is quite clear that AVATAR is way ahead of other movies. i dont think there is any chance that any movie is going to break that record. Do share your comments and opinion on the same.

There are movies that set a near impossible record like Avatar, but the same was said about Titanic, and it did take another 12 years to beat the record but it was surpassed. What is interesting is that both were directed by James Cameron and there have been rumours that there will be an Avatar 2. Maybe it will break the record again?

Yes, you are right. Even I heard rumours about the second part of AVATAR coming up. Heard it would be based on a world under water. Some months back, even James Cameroon had gone on an under water expedition. must be a part of making movie i guess.

Deep sea exploring is his hobby and he already made many deep sea documentaries, some of them in 3D. He already announced Avatar 2 and 3 and maybe even a prequel after and stated they would showcase the oceans of Pandora. I don't have any interest to see the world of Avatar again tho

hi guys..yeah..he loved exploring the deep sea..(james cameron) he first did it when he created the camera for Robert Ballard to discover the titanic(the real ship) in 1985.. then from there he got ideas to make the movie THE ABYSS.and titanic..etc.. in imdb..he is reported to be in progress and in production of Avatar 2.. so maybe thatll be another record breaking film.or will be among the top 3 with the rest of his movies..

it was said that... only a James Cameron's Movie can break a James cameron 's movie.. Titanic ..was the first movie that surpassed the 1billion dollar box office mark. as a matter of fact..only titanic and avatar the billion dollar grossing movie..the rest ..still well below a billion $,, go to boxoffice.com

Thats true, It is near to impossible to break his movie records. the most important thing is the gruelling themes and concepts that he bring in for his movies. I think maybe in he future, Christopher Nolan could emulate the gigantic success nature of cameroon
