What bothers you with mylot from a presentation point of view?

Every site has its pros and cons. Most of us love mylot but there are bound to be some things we would like to change. For instance I would like to see the design changed. It is a bit too plain although some people prefer white as it is easy on the eyes. I would like to see some improvements for better navigation. For instance, on the top part we can see 8 interests. It would be better if that space were used more effectively. These are just opinions, but I guess there is always room for improvement. Would like to see a fresher look. I have been here for over 3 years and as far as I know it has always been the same. Change is good from time to time. Any thoughts?

Agree on the change aspect. I would like to be able to post a comment immediately, rather than elect to skip tags, etc. etc. the option for tags should be right at the bottom when we are finished typing our discussion or replies.

Yes that 'tags' screen is really annoying I totally agree with you. It would be far better if the tags option were on the same screen of the post area.

as far as colors and flashing stuff goes, there's enough flashy things in the interests to drive me bananas! It would be nice to use colored fonts and such, I guess, but black on white is easier for these old eyes.

If it aint broke, don't fix it! Rather than changing things which are working fine, if anything should be done then it would be much better to fix the things that don't work - like notifiers and comments on profiles and then a huge overhaul of the FAQs and Guidelines. I am perfectly happy with everything else and the while background suits me fine. Remember that there are users of all ages here and lots of colours, especially if they are flashing, is distracting to the topics and disastrous for the eyesight if you already have problems with it.

I've got to agree here. This is one of those times when someone else (mysd) says it better than I could. All I can add is a .

Yes i agree with you that 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' in most cases, but some changes would be welcome. Things need to change from time to time. One cannot remain stagnated forever.

For me, I just want to receive notifications if someone responded to your responses or comments. It's time consuming checking the discussion every now and then if someone has replied again or not anymore. In addition, there's no notification when you get the best response. When you're always online, I guess you can see it at the homepage. But if you're not, you miss the chance so just go over "best response" and then you'll see there if someone chosen your comment the best one.I guess that's all for now. :)

I've always received notifications of best response. Perhaps you've just missed yours somehow. Email does get lost in the ether sometimes.

I honestly really like everything about the site. Yes, I will admit that the general appearance of the site is something that is really simple, however, I think that this is something that is for the best. The reason that I feel that way is because of the fact that I think that it would be harder on the eyes if the site was a lot more colorful. In addition to that, I also think that by keeping the same site design, they are saving money and that means more that members are able to earn from being on the site.

It would be nice if response time could be faster. You hit submit and it takes a while for the response to post. Then you get a tag page and then that takes time to reload the page. It would be nice to have it all on one page and when you hit post it posts a lot more quickly so you don't spend so much time waiting to see if your response went through. The interests should be cut down to major categories and not pieces of categories. Look at food: that is one category but then it is broken down to all types of food. This isn't really necessary, all foods should be part of the food category or cooking category. The same goes for say home & family: everything should be under that one category. Wife, husband, boy or girl friend, children, etc... it is too much to have subcategories in the extreme.

Yes that 'tags' screen is really annoying I totally agree with you. It would be far better if the tags option were on the same screen of the post area. I also totally agree with you regarding the interests. There are too many interests which are similar, or even the same. Those ought to be removed or amalgamated. It really annoys me as there is lack of order in that area. It is sort of a disorganized filing system lol

Change is indeed good and MyLot needs a revamp. Somehow this blue small writing is old looking and old fashioned. I like the site and its speed and variety, but it is not a site like Knoji or iWriter. Still we love you MyLot.

Yes that's what I meant. A revamp would be good. More graphics, more colors. After all sites' designs are all the time improving.

Ih ave been here five yea rs grkelly and y es there have been changes made from what it was like when I first signed on. we'need to contact mylot with our ideas as they are the o ly ones whocold make some changes. they will not make changes that are awfu lly complex and require oddles of money. I kind of like my lot the way it looks but like you that is my opinion. I wou ld love t o' see some wa y for m ylot admins to see to it that all newcomers'have to read the guidelines and the FAQ's too,. b ut that ones been'sent to them and ignored,. but they do listen to us and do make changes if they think they are feasible.

Change is good time to time only in life not in sites. Because if rules are made by the owner or creator it is difficult to change it because not depend only on one person and I think here everything is good and negative effect on anyone.

I share your thoughts. Yet, better a boring looking site that works than a flashy one that doesn't.
