Is your office work strict in terms of Late and Absences?

How strict is your office work in terms of late and absences? How many times are you forgiven for being late? Then what would be your offense or sanction if you already reached the quota of tardiness? Or if you have exceeded the quota of absences then is that already subject for expulsion already? What about in absences how many times they will allow you? If you have exceeded it then what would be your offense and sanction? In my case I don't know yet if our office is totally strict in the number of absences though I've already reached 5 times. My boss is not yet talking to me regarding that matter although I doubt it if there is other consequences aside of course that your salary will be deducted. In terms of late it is not so strict as long as you will inform your boss that you will be late for some reason. Usually my salary is being deducted because of absences and if I am coming to work half of the day. But being late like 30 minutes to 1 hour I have experienced of being deducted.

Sometimes I wish they would be a little more strict like they were with me last yr when I was late all the time ... Thing is I had a doctors note and they still got after me where the people I am referring too are always late with no real reason. I feel if you have a good reason like doctors note then that should be acceptable but not then just allow everyone else to be late as well.

I don't want my company to be that strict in terms of late or else I would be always deducted on my salary. Aside from that it is hard to travel everyday because of the stress in traffic.

At my job you get 2 chances on the third they terminate your employment. It is very important to be on time to your job. Other people count on you to be on time. If your going to be late it is always best to call and let them know, but being late all the time will get you fired where I work. They have no tolarance for it.

It is really a good practice of not being late or how to be more punctual. Being late is not good because of course it will affect the productivity of your work if you always do that.

My company is really strict when it comes to the absences and tardiness. One of my colleagues got late for 2-3 weeks in a row and she got a letter warning her about her tardiness. There was also one colleague of mine got fired because of her tardiness and absences. At first she got suspended, but when she got back, she still had this tardiness issue and so the management had to let her go. We don't get our attendance allowance if we have 3 lates or absences. But if we don't have any, we'll be able to get additional attendance allowance bonus.

hi, actually me and all my co-worker are very thankful because we have a supervisor who is not very strict in terms of late but when it comes to absences our boss is not,he said to us that he would rather like to us to be late rather than to be absent for the whole day.

I used to be in HR and we were quite strict with attendance and tardiness. For every 3x late in a month, the employees were given penalty from written warning for the first offense, 1 day suspension for the next and so forth. An employee who persists on being late for 6 months will have to face dismissal from the job. Re absences, employees should provide advance notice otherwise, they will be asked to make a written explanation regarding their unauthorized absence. If it is a sick leave or an emergency, a simple phone call or text will do as a notice of not being able to report for work. Why do companies do this? It is to impose discipline. It can be very inconvenient especially for production and manufacturing companies when employees do not come on time. Time is very valuable and employees should be able to realize this. On the other hand, companies need to provide incentives for perfect attendance as an encouragement for employees the same time that is is a method to show appreciation for those who give due importance to their job.

I actually agree it must be the practice of being responsible worker and person as well. Time is gold which is actually true that we must value it. I was able to hear some companies that are giving much bonuses for the perfect attendance but then it also hurts on deduction when they committed the late and absences.
