We all use computer for some task, maybe some are using for just for fun and some are using it for earning. While some are using it to gather information. And some don't like to use it but they are forced to used it to do their daily office task. However what ever you do with your systems, for games, office work, doing projects and many other what you do with your system. So how much you know about your system, its working it functioning and its durability. How do you maintian your system well so that you won't need to buy another system for years.

I don't really know much at all I use mine for work all day and sometimes at night and lately every time I am i using it the firefox window will pop up and it blocks the screen from what I am doing and I have to push the x to close it and there were some really bad emails in my email that I know I never subscribed too they are really bad!!! If you know what I mean and I don't know how to get rid of them because some emails have that thing at the bottom where it says unsubrscribe but I looked everywhere and can not find out how to stop the nasty emails? Sorry I could not be of help. I have heard that if you download a lot of things it will slow down your computer I know it did mine and all of it had to be removed.

Hi bloodmask! I must admit it, I know few things about computers. But I do take care of my computer in the best of my knowledge. About the system, I let the technician take care of this. On the programs, I also have a little knowledge that is just enough for me to carry on with my daily tasks and office works.

Most people just go for technician when the problem is even small. When we understand our system in very deep we realize that problem was just easy to solve. Try understanding it more and you realize that it was just simple to configure your PC.

I know as much about my computer as I do my car. I do general maintenance (or have someone else do it), operate them both with safety in mind and know enough to recognize when something is not working right. I run a good antivirus all the time, work behind a firewall and so on. Also, I turn off the machine when it's not going to be in use for awhile. Defrag and do a disk cleanup regularly - things like that.

You know enough to keep your system clean and running and that's good because some don't know about all those things that you mentioned.

If you have installed a lot of softwares and then uninstalled them then I think that your system must be slow for now. Try optimizing it. You will have fun when you have speedy PC.

I have a working knowledge on computers but I want to learn more about them, maybe gained through experience working in a computerized workplace or environment. I'm planning to get another pc for my wife for her online gigs. Plans of enrolling to an information technology course is on the way, hopefully soon. Thanks

Thats good that you are planning for enrolling for IT course, it is better that you go for some certification if you already have degree in some other course as regular course would take another year off your schedule. Lets hope that you learn a lot out of computers and just earn a big lot from it like those of bill gates.

I use my computer for both pleasure and work because I have a VPN which enables me to access the network at work. I have a decent understanding of both the hardware and software aspects of a computer, which does prove to be very useful. If I have a problem then I deal with it myself, which saves wasting a vast amount of money on computer repair or servicing. I always pay great attention to the motherboard supplied with my computer because that governs what components can be added or upgraded. This means that I can add hardware if required, and can also upgrade components to avoid the system becoming outdated too quickly. This certainly extends the lifespan of a system and can save a great deal of money in the long run.
