Spin offs

Well as had some time to see som TV today I stumpled over the joey spin off from the friends series and even though I joey was my favorite caracter in friends I must say I a little disapointed. So I csme to wonder have there ever any good spin offs from other series?
I can remember Fraiser as being a spin off from cheers, and I think that was pretty good. Any other?

I like friends very much and all the characters are good and very famous today

Well depends on if it is comedies or dramas. Things like CSI:NY or CSI:Miami are good spin offs to CSI, though they never were as popular as CSI, so much so that CSI:Miami was not renewed. The procedural and police shows like CSI, NCIS, SVU are the ones that seem to have the most luck with spin offs. Another group is the adventure and space shows like, Star Trek and all it's series, Stargate, Hercules and Xena, DR Who and Torchwood. It is very rare that a spin off is as successful as the original series though.
