Disturbing Pictures on Cigarette Packages...

I've noticed that the images on cigarette packages have become a lot more graphic, I find them really disturbing actually. I'm a non-smoker myself, my other half smokes and the images on his cigarette packages give me a sick feeling in my stomache. Do you think overall images like that on packages are affective in any way? What's the most disturbing imagine you've seen on package? One that comes to mind for me is an older woman looking very weak, and in text it says something to the affect of: " it hurts just to breathe". Thanks for sharing.
