Here in UK, Christian's won the right not to swear on the Bible in court but instead to affirm because Jesus cations against taking oaths and since 17 century they and others have enjoyed this right. What is the situation in your country? Would you swear or affirm? All the best, urban

Hi urban, I've always thought that only Christians swear on the Bible in court and that those who don't believe in the Bible affirm. Thanks for this interesting bit of information and actually it would not matter either way for me. Blessings.

Here a person is not supposed to be forced to swear on the bible if he is not a believer of the holy book 'Bible'. Doing so will violate his constitutional rights, and go against on separation of church and state doctrine.

I'd prefer to affirm first and then swear afterwards if required.
