Ouch. I hate it. It is excrucitating for me to be sitting here right now at the computer for too long at a time, otherwise I get them. Do you ever get those if you sit here for too long? I'm going to have to force myself to go watch TV or something instead soon and I don't wanna. I'd rather post here on mylot. What do you usually do for back pain?

You probably need to see a doctor and find out why you are having back pain. I had back pain for years and finally was forced to see a doctor. Turns out that I have a slipped disc. I usually experience pain standing or walking, not sitting or lying down. What I do when experiencing back pain is to sit down. I joined the Y and exercise on the machines helps some but I am not going enough. The pain is going down my leg to my ankle. Walking is becoming difficult. I am going to have to go back to the doctor soon.

A slipped disc is really awful. I had been going to a clinic for low income and uninsured persons. Now I have medicare and can go to a specialist if they are on my plan and take new medicare patients. That can sometimes be a problem I was told of three options: exercise, pain pills or surgery. I was advised against the latter two unless necessary. I have been living with and managing the pain but now it is going down my leg and into my foot. I am going to have to see a doctor and discuss options available like maybe a back brace or physical therapy. It might be wise for you to see a doctor. I let mine go too long and made it worse. You want to be real careful with back pain. It can't hurt to check it out.

Well, I notice that if I sit here for a long time it occurs more often than not. It's not a constant thing thank goodness. I was hoping I wouldn't have to see the dr if I just take small breaks from this now and then. I hope your back pain is resolved soon, a slipped disc does sound painful. What can they do for it? For me it's when I have not moved around for awhile cause if I change where I'm sitting after awhile it goes away.

I try to change my postion while onlie, I find if I sit a certain way I get stiff and sore. Ive been standing all day, so laying down, or sitting up is nice. I am obn my bed, so its comfy compared to say sitting at a deak with a chair.

Yea, that is my biggest problem when I'm on here, I sit for too long in one position and don't get up every hour to move around. As soon as I got up from here last night and sat on the couch instead it helped alot.

I find I get like that if I stay in the same position. I switch spots whether its lying on my stomach, holding the laptop up, or sitting up. But I find I get it almost immediately the pain, so I get so uncomfortable and have to move.

I get some dreadful pains too and sometimes it helps if I walk on the treadmill for 5 or 10 minutes. It also helps to wake me up a bit if I'm feeling too tired...which can happen early in the morning. I've been getting some excruciating back pain lately and while I'm having a motion regularly it seems there are bits that hang around and cause me pain. It's baffling because I drink lots of water and have enough fibre. The thing is, if I take extra fibre the pain goes away. I think it's part of aging. It's the pits though...

For back pains, I usually just pop a pill to relieve me from the pain. Otherwise, I lie flat on my chest and ask my husband to give me a massage.

I didn't need a pill thank goodness, and although I probably would have benefited from a massage I didn't need that either. I feel better right now.

I usually change position whenever I feel back pains due to long sitting. I also walk for back and forth and do some stretching. Put pillow at the back.

I sit on a pillow here at the computer cause of the way this chair is too low for the table. I should put one behind me too, thanks for that info. I try to change positions or get up and walk around if I feel any pain, it does help yes.

I have arthritis in my back, so it doesn't matter whether I sit too long, stand too long or bend, I'm in pain. But I'm fortunate to have a loving husband who will message me down.
