I'm just wondering is their a way you can ban member so that he can't read or post in my thread? I just want to know if mylot has that kind of feature. I just want to choose who can read and who can't read my thread. I'm just wondering if its possible or not.

No. It isn't possible. MyLot is an open community and you cannot forbid anyone to post in any discussion as long as they adhere to the Guidelines.
MyLot discussions and posts are open to the entire Internet, whether someone is a member or not (though you have to be a member to post, of course).

For me what I post in mylot I really don't mind other seeing but same time I want to make sure that I have an healthy thread. I don't want members who post in my thread just simply because they can and actually does not contribute much on the topic at hand.
I don't like posters who hijack my thread and I don't like posters who post topics that has no connection with my thread. Because what the use of keep on reporting those who violates does posters right? Their post will just going to be delete by after you open another thread they post again their nuisance post.

hi why on earth would we want to ban anyone, and if we had one it could be abused too.I did not like that idea very much so this person only wants certain people to respond to her or him, hope nobody does as thats discriminating.

Abused? Its seems you are guilty or something. lols.
First in mylot you can accept or deny friendship request. Does it mean its an abuse to deny each time someone want to be friend with you?
Secondly if banning members to post in your thread is available I'm sure theirs always guidelines in banning members from posting in your thread. Banning that member to post in your thread does not mean he can't post in other members thread also.
What if theirs a member who just nonsense post each time you open a new thread. What if you have a thread about comedy movies and he is posting horror movies?
And its time you open a new thread this guy is posting nonsense post. What will you do? just report it each time he post in your thread?
But if theirs a feature for banning members then at least hijacking threads is going to be minimized.

hi bulastika no indeed this is an open forum for discussions open to all people from all countries.why do you wish to ban some member?
look there is a report button to report anyone who insults or flames you so you do not need to resort to banning anyone.they do not
allow that here.Maybe you are on other sites that do that. I
personally am glad we do not have one here as its not fair to ban someone just cause you do not like him or her. no its not possible
to ban a member from your precious post. But I shall remember you
are prejudiced to whom you allow to respond to your post and
refuse to respond there..this is not facebook nor does it want
to be facebook

Prejudice? Is asking if mylot has banning features already make me a prejudice?
Okay if I'm prejudice then quote my post in which I say I want to ban this member and quote me what reason why I want to ban that member.
Also quote me what member that I want to ban.
Because I read my post again and I don't mention that I'm going to ban any member from mylot and just asking if mylot has banning features.
But is thinking that a member post is a prejudice make that person a prejudice also?

If don't mind other can read and see my post and my thread. But sometimes I experience posters who hijack thread and does not really like to post because he knows or can relate to the topic but because he just want to post to earn more points.

I don't mind if all can read my thread and my post. I just want to control who going to post in my thread that's all. Just to keep on making healthy thread. Sometimes theirs some members who love to hijack other threads and has more post that the author of the thread. lols. that's the time of posters that I don't like.

I am very glad that myLot does not have this type of feature. First, it is an open forum, so every member is free to participate (or to not participate) in any and/or every discussion on the site. Second, we get paid based on our activity and the quality of our content. If there were a banning option, then our activity might be seriously limited, which would in turn reduce our potential for earnings and could also negatively affect the quality of our content. Third, people could easily abuse the banning option just as they do the rating system, and they could ban someone for not agreeing with them, which again would negatively affect the quality of the discussions and therefore the quality of the site. Fourth, as many have already stated, Admin already bans users from the entire site if the user consistently behaves in an inappropriate manner, so individuals being able to ban other members would be rather redundant and unnecessary.

Well, I guess that it depends upon what you would call "spam". If you are putting a bunch of referral links in my (or any) discussion, then you will get banned by Admin, because that is not allowed and will not be tolerated. If you are repeatedly responding to a bunch of discussions with completely off-topic comments, then you also risk your account being banned by Admin. On the other hand, if you just consistently respond to my discussions, even if you always have a different opinion on the subject than I do, then I would welcome you and would not report you as we all have a right to respond the way we feel best as long as it is not rude or inappropriate.

What if each time you open a new thread I will going to spam your thread. Will you going to be happy with that? You can report me each time I do that but what the use since mylot does not ban member?
Its good if all members do respect each other thread. But lets face it theirs others who just love to spam mylot hoping that they can earn big amount each month in mylot. I don't mind if some members post to earn in mylot. As long they know how to balance spamming and discussion post.

Others here have already told you that it cannot be done. There are ways in which you can stay away. One of them would be to ignore that user's comment or response. You can also report if there is any element of abuse. What I feel is that may be you know this person in your real life and so you feel you do not have the kind of freedom you wish to have. Is it what it is?

You can ignore it. But for how long? If each time for example you open new thread he going to post and make some bias comments each time you open a new thread? Or what the use of reporting if each time you open new thread he just keep on posting and you just keep on reporting also?

just like everybody says, there's no way you can do that. i bet some members here have the same feeling as yours. but, learn to get over it. if others don't like your post, just don't argue with them too much or both of you will be violated...i guess.

That's true. I really not thinking of banning members just wondering if mylot has that features. But I also agree. Since reading different reaction in this thread I become aware that having a banning features really is necessary. But sad to say its not available.

It is a quite interesting discussion. I checked the site and have not been able to find a clue to that with regards to ban a member. I have gathered this that it is an open forum, discussion board and anybody can participate.

Its seems theirs no banning from mylot. I think its only mylot that those not ban member even if they make some violations. But you can report them and what mylot will do is going to delete the post of that poster if theirs some reason that he violate mylot rules.

Yeah, I've seen those too; but I just take it as that kind of poster really relates to the topic so he/she likes to comment on all responses.
