It is getting colder again so time to break out the crock pot. Anyone have any favorite recipes? I want to try some new stuff this year.

One of my favorites is barbeque beef, pork or chicken. Cook which ever meat on low with water and favorite spices for 6-8 hours depending on how many pounds or until meat falls apart with fork. Then drain juices, you can freeze for gravy to be thawed and used at a later date. Then take your favorite bbq sauce, minced onion, garlic, pepper, 1 cup orange juice and 1/4 cup of Jack Daniels whiskey. Cook on low for another 1 1/2 hours. It is very yummy. I use this for sandwiches.

The only recipe I have is your basic pot roast. You brown the meat on all sides. Add carrots , onions , and potatoes and the beef and water to a crock pot and cook for 6 hours or so. But I think if you look on the Food Network site you will find other ideas.

One of my favorite things to make in a crock pot is chicken and rice. I put rice in the bottom of the pot, then put the chicken in and add a can of cream of mushroom soup and some water. It always turns out good.

Sure! Welcome to mylot. Yesterday night I played on shockwave a game named -let´s cooking for thanksgiving- I play cooking a butter pumpking, with parmessan cheese, bacon crumbs, olive oil, eggs, half and a half. Delicious. I couldn´t cook it today, because we had our national holiday party on saturday and I had some food for today, but as soon as I can I want to try it. It`s not easy to find here the butter pumpking, but I can replace it with italian pumpkin. Blessings merylinkid... dainy
