Teaching children how to read with SUBTITLES

I have always enabled the subtitle function so that I could watch tv. It allows me to read and not have my hidden have to hear it. It also helps them with their programming to learn how to read. I love subtitles. Has anyone else had success with this. My nine year old is a pro at reading now. I am hoping the same for my two year old.

, I never tried it with my children, now they are older, but I´d try to encourage their reading speed when I watch tv shows in english. They must read subtitles.
I remember that was the way it was when I was a girl.
