new pet.....part 2

3 days ago i posted a discussion about getting a new pet. well............sometime on sunday he got hurt. from what the vet could figure out, one of his disks pushed on his spine. she said it was common with his breed. there was nothing that anyone could have done, couldn't do or prevent. but pushing on the spine, it made him loose feeling and use of his back legs. he was loosing feeling and use of his front legs. the only way to correct this problem is with surgery.well.....where's the money tree??? another choice was to put his back legs into a "wheelchair". with him loosing feeling of his front legs, it wasn't a guarantee. so we were left with a third option, putting him to sleep. so that's what was done today. the vet was nice enough to wait for the kids to finish school for the day to say good bye to him. then they put him down. :'( it's been a very emotional crazy day. i think after this, i'm not going to bring in anymore pets. i'm already being extra cautious with my chuhuaha. i couldn't bear the thought of loosing her like that.
