I just throw my computer out the window from about 7 stories. I really didn't do this but I was tempted. What I did do was take the poor thing into the local repair shop and paid about $200.00 for repair from virus, upgraded protection and just generally gave it a beauty treatment. The only thing wrong now is that I have to figure out how to enlarge the print, reinstall a couple of programs and learn the little ins and outs of the new protection policy. What a pain. And I do apologies to all my friends who made discussions while I was gone. I just couldn't read them all, I bearly keep up with this on a daily basis. Sorry.

Well it was pretty bad to hear about your temper so much so that u didn't even spare your computer. See i can understand that human anger and emotions cannot be controlled but we should not take out our anger over other things around us. Especially when u throw a computer from such a height then u have to spend money, time and energy to get everything done. i hope u have control over your anger in the future and do not commit the same mistake again. What say?

Computer repairs can be seriously expensive and quite out of proportion for the amount of work involved. It has always annoyed me that many of these people make unrealistic profits at the expense of the average person just because they cannot solve the problems themselves. I am fortunate enough to be able to cope with most issues that occur, whether they are software or hardware related. Every time that I encounter this type of story I am reminded of how lucky I am.

I don't have computer now as my old computer is aging and found to be obsolete. I have to make do with this Samsung galaxy for the being while scouting for a good model that is more compatible to my daily use.

I can understand that, pat. Specially since we already know that money does not grow on trees. Pooor friend! You had to pay a lot for the repair! I will have to learn how to use some gadgets too. My sister and brother gave me awesome stuff for my birthday (in June) and I haven“t read the booklet yet

That has to be a drag getting viruses. My friend has a PC and has had many problem through the years with it. He had to spend the equivalent of a new computer in order to have his fixed many times. I am so happy that I do not have to deal with that. I just hope your computer is working much better now. And faster.

I ever want to throw away my old laptop because the damage has been very severe. If I take it to be fixed then the cost would be comparable to buying a new laptop I am very annoyed but have to be patient. Finally, I am saving enough to buy a new laptop and gave my old laptop to my cousins.

Hi savypat, I bought a laptop about five months ago but recently it started shutting down because the battery wouldn't hold it's charge.I contacted the manufacturer and they gave me a new battery but it took more then a week for delivery. It was sent by Fedex and I expected better service but then I should not complain, as I can remember when it would have taken much longer lol! Isn't it strange that the better things get, the more we expect. Blessings.

Pat, you're excused for not being on top of everything happening here. Computer problems are frustrating, and I have often been tempted to through mine out the window. I've got one that hasn't been communicating with the monitor for over a year. I've tried changing keyboards and mouse, but it hasn't helped. What I haven't done is get down on my hands and knees to see if everything is connected properly. I haven't changed anything that I know of, but it's possible a cable has come loose. I don't need the computer for day-to-day life, but I prefer using it to using the laptop I have to use at that location in its absence. My own excuse for my periodic absences is the demands on my time from my various political organizations before the election. I'm on a campaign committee for a local city council candidate and that's on top of being active in the core group of two other organizations. I can't believe the amount of time I'm expected to be at meetings or on the phone. I've almost stopped participating in the conference calls because I hate being on the phone for 90 minutes and I don't learn well that way. I prefer email discussions and websites any time over phone communication.
