Have you had your work stolen online?

I applied for a contract to write articles for the client and he asked for a sample which I provided. He liked the article and requested that I give him some time to give me a feed back. After ten days,he cancelled the contract. I submitted my article to another site and my account was suspended because they found similar work online. He had sold my article. Has this ever happened to you and what did you do?

It has happened to me a few times. Other writers informed me that pieces of my work had been plagiarized. I wrote to to the site and complained but nothing was done about it. You can try and explain to them, but I doubt they will do something about it.

Good for you; don't give up. Remember when you go the extra mile to achieve your goal you are more likely to win.

I've never experienced that because the article I wrote on my blog just a diary of my daily so there would not be an interesting thing to be copied However, it seems you have to be careful next time if you want to do online job contract to write an article. Make sure that people who want to use your article is someone who can be trusted. Goodluck

I wrote an article on ezinearticles about tourism in the Philippines. My articel got ripped off by another writer. He claimed it as his own. Two reposted it on their blogs but they did leave the name of my blog at the bottom. Sad to say I had no way of reprimanding that one writer who changed a few words and treated it as if it was his own. For the other two, well a link to my blog in exchange for reposting and placing my name and a link to my blog is not that bad. :)

hi Couchpotato its always good for a good thing to come out of the bad and your link to the blog. I hope that it worked for you at the end.

So far, I never experience this thing because I am not a full time online writer. I only write in a site for some promotion. I also submitted some articles in some sites but I have to promote my link as well before I could earn something. So I was not able to continue with that job. But if an article can also be stolen, then we should always be careful of dealing with other people online. Finding the perfect site could be a nice move.

Hi Aries, yes finding that perfect site is almost a dream but eventually will get a good honest person. Keeping my fingers crossed on that one.

I haven't experienced this. I do write for a certain health and beauty blog and so far, I get paid and my work is just published on that particular site that I have an agreement with. That's so terrible, and this is the first that I've heard of it. Maybe this is the reason why some of my friends would rather show their potential employers their blogs for them to have a glimpse of their writing style rather than to submit a sample article about any subject that the employer would choose.

Hi Raine, you are so lucky to get a good writing place. Thanks for that advise I will be referring them to my blog or I ask them to pay upfront before I submit any of my work.
