You Earn Reward For Reporting Post Violated myLot Guidelines

Is it possible that myLot will give us rewards if we report a post who violated the guidelines? If myLot will give rewards, many members will report immediate about the violation. The first members who report the post shall receive the rewards. I think we can suggest this matter to the Admin. myLot members increase everyday and I think Admin need our cooperation regarding this issue. Are you in favor of this idea?

Hi... It is not a bad idea, in a mechanical way... But we are not mechanical, or machines... We're humans.. Imagine, if it becomes another way to earn money on myLot, then people will swarm here, hunting for bad posts, violating posts etc.. There might even be the 'post' wars.. Or rather 'violation' wars... In a good way, it'll make this site clear and the admin will have less work to do... I'm sure the Admin, has an efficient method of controlling it, even now.. Whenever some spammer is doing business here, the site admin clears them as soon as possible.. My friend, the idea that you've come up with, is not too bad... It just sounds expensive, at this stage...

Maybe it needs more staff to investigate all reports everyday. Not only hundredths but maybe thousandths of reports Admin will check after 24 hours. They cannot sleep anymore.

Hi... Thinking of it now, gives me a new idea.. Maybe, its not even required... The present system is working fine... No Spammer has survived here for more than 24 hours... Thats the maximum time... They're cleared in a few hours, even if no one reports... I wonder, how could they have implemented such an effective system... They caclculate every members' activities... Check for Spam... Pay every member in time... Fo me, its like work of Gods...

Aside for being filtered by the system that is why spammer easily catch, members also plays a major role to make this site clean from any spammers. To set an example, if I found a post with referral links I always rate negative and report. It takes only seconds to report the spammer. That is the reason no spammers stay here for more than 24 hours.

No way will I ever want to have such bonus. People will abuse the report button that's for sure. I am fine with our earnings and I am happy with my earnings as well. I always report topic and mylotters who violated rules without the rewards- I can still continue doing it.

@jaiho2009 I understand, you think only what will happen if other members will abuse the system. We know already, people will try to find time to earn more in easy way. That is the reason some sites become scam and force to close it's mainly because of the members activities.

I like this because it shows a good model for our community and if we all thought more on this line instead of on the cents we receive, there would be less violation to report anyway!

Yeah am in favor brad... and I guess everyone should read the guidelines from time to time! including me of course, sometimes I feel guilty because I always suggest newbies to read the guidelines, of course I read the guidelines but somehow I forget and violate some...

You are pushing others to do the things you might not do I am lazy to read again the guidelines. I remember, I read only it once when I was still new here after I got a warning from one of the member.

Of course you should only report those post that violated the guidelines. If you intentionally do it for the sake of your earnings, your earnings and your account will sacrifice.

It is impossible to be implemented in current system, since Alex *said* that the report went anonymously, he can't know the person who reports for violation. Encouraging people to report any violation by giving a reward might be a good idea. But it will brings more troubles than its benefits. False reporting is one of huge trouble if myLot start to implement this. It will brings lots of trouble for Alex, whom I see is still working alone up to now.

Maybe Alex will not sleep anymore if he will received hundredths of reports everyday. And maybe he need more staff to check all the reported cases from different members.

No, I don't support this idea. Because there are many users around who are too eager to make money, without actually putting in any effort. Such users may report any discussion or response as a violation is haste, just to make quick money. This may affect adversely an user who is working hard here in posting responses and helping others, only to see his/her response being reported and removed. It will affect both earnings and reputation of such an affected user. Also I don't like the idea of being rewarded for being the "first members" to report something. There maybe several users who know the guidelines religiously but couldn't report something just because they weren't online. It will be unjust to the old timers. And this sounds to me like a sort of chance game and/or wagering. Also what number should determine the "first members"? It will only create confusion instead of making matters simple. Good day!

@MIMO_Rulz_111 In my case I don't like to act like a person who doesn't think what will happen after he/she did a thing without a valid reason. I understand several people might think in a different way but if your purpose is to destroy other reputation is not good. I mean only those who post who mainly abuse and disobey the guidelines. @echoforever I agree with you

My thoughts exactly. If myLot were all full of the people who love the community for what it is rather than wanting money for absolutely nothing then this might be a good idea. However, our rose colored glasses won't work today!

oh no, i think this kind of set up won't help with the clean up of the community. it might only actually add some confusion and all the more issues because other people might just abuse the reporting of discussions or threads with violation just so they can earn from it. Imagine how much more work and disputes the mylot admin would have received each day. That is going to be another set of bulk complaints to be handled by mylot admin. he he

Admin will no longer sleep due to the volume of report they receive everyday. I think Admin won't allow that will happen to him. Or else he will close the site if he cannot manage anymore

I think it is good not to violate the guidelines. I am not sure about it. I will think about it and I think if we do not violate rules, we will be earned good. I think it is good to follow the rules.

@ravisivan I agree with you. Those who are caught abusing the system will receive penalty. Members should think first if the report they submitted are valid. Otherwise they compromised their account, if not suspension? All their balances be forfeited. I they will be careful in doing so.

if we adopt a reward for first person reporting violation --then wrong reporting should be penalised.

I am not. There is way too much trolling on MyLot as it is, and right now the only incentive these trolls get is watching your star ranking fall. If there were an actual monetary incentive on this website, the trolling would be ceaseless. I think that adding that kind of incentive would be a detriment to the fun that people have on this website, and actually cause more people to stop coming here, rather than creating an environment that welcomes people in. I can understand your thought in trying to make things better, but I don't think that in practice it would actually work.

I wasn't saying that the reports of violations bring your star down, I was saying that Trolls bringing your star down is the worst you have to worry about at this point (I know that's done by the negative button) If we went to this new format, things with trolls would be even worse because now they can get money for reporting you instead of just bringing your star down. Also, while I was trolled at one point this was a couple of years ago, and I never did know who (or what group of people) was trolling me at that point, so I couldn't report it.

You don't have to know, or even guess, who is trolling your star. Just point out the problem to admin and he will investigate.

Reporting violations, whether they are deleted or not, does not affect our star. If you are aware of users trolling the ratings then you should report them to admin.

hi julyteen sorry to burst your bubble but thre problem is not everyone would be honest like yourself as money kills their instincts for honesty and my lot would have to go through thousands of reports to weed out those who just report anything in hopes of getting money. it just would not work july .good sounding idea but too many would not play fair.

Hey Granny, Exactly you are right granny, several will abuse because they are greedy and what to received rewards in easy way. Just only a suggestion and a sort of discussing one feature that might help the site if many members will agree.

That is why i prefer commenting on others discussion rather than creating it. Because of this reason, some people do steal ideas in either intentionally or unintentionally.. you really can't tell.

So you mean you prefer to respond than to create your own discussion. Actually, posting your own discussion and interact to members who leave their response will boost your earnings.

Well, I guess it will turn out adversely affecting myLot. Many will try to pull out reports in order to earn. That means myLot will have a volume of reports to be screened while most will end up as inappropriate reports. It will also take out the fun in myLot. Imagine myLotters just spending time looking for negativity in each and every post made in here. Not good!

Guideline violation reporting is admin's bussiness. They are free from biasness. They are to think and discover which element of a post is within the violation of mylot guidelines and to be deleted. Stay fine

No. The reporting part is up to users. We are asked in the Guidelines to help out and report violations and then admin deals with them. If he thinks that there is a violation then he will deleted the post but if there is none, it will stay put.

Not all the time Admin catches the mess here. They need the users to report some discrepancies did by fellow myLotters. Admin eyes limited to 2 only but the total number of members will create hundred thousands of eyes around the site.

hi diana some users still feel that we who do report guideline violations even like the one I reported that used the word milestone all through her discussion are mylot police. thats unfair as mylot a dmins asks us to help whenever we can.It was a new user and I suggested she read t he guideline as it explained that mylot does not want us to make milestone disussions.I am not biased at all as I did not even know the user. but when a milestone discussion breaks the rules and I s ee one actually using the word I stop to try to get her to learn the rules so she will not lose another discussion, I did report it as the rules do apply to all of us.

Hello July. I think there might be a problem with this, as it will lead to a great increase in reports, and some abuse might occur as well, where trolls report legit discussions. Also I don't know exactly how the report function works, but if each report has to be done individually and not as a reports per topic this will be a huge problem for the limited staff currently employed by mylot - think how many people would be needed to analyse over 10.000 reports individually per day.

It might possible if there is also guidelines. Whoever members report without probable cause will receive sanction and their account might be on danger for suspension.

i think if this happens, mylot will lose its quality. you will start seeing many members 'purposely' start violated discussions, while their other 'friends' will report it, and then vice versa. in this way, all of them may earn fast money together. so in the end mylot will become a place full of spams and start to lose loyal members... it will be a sad ending... oops, i just got carried away!

I think there were no spammers still will stay here because they are reported immediately. The main problem maybe all members are busy searching who's members violated the guidelines. No more discussions happen. Members afraid to post discussions because they are worried to violate the guidelines.

julyteen: For your suggestion : It will motivate members to report violation immedaitely. 2) it will improve earnings of members, 3) it will caution members not to violate. Against your suggestion: Members may report even small thing without knowing that that is not a violation, 2) enmity will increase among members, 3) genuine and not genuine reporting will take place.

I don't think this would be good idea. it's good that each of us try to give more contribution for mylot by reporting the violation, but the worries appear when some people like to earn more cents by reporting discussion and he/she even didn't understand if discussion is really against the guidelines or not. let mylot's admin do their job

I believe it is best to leave everything as it is at the moment. If such change is to be made to Mylot, many members would quit this website and you definitely can expect fewer discussions and comments. There may also be members that keep looking for discussions with the slightest similarities with other discussions and report it just for the sake of getting the few pennies. Is it right to do so? I don't think so. A little similarity in discussions are very common. Because the things that we have around us is only that number. Simply put, the friendly environment of Mylot would be put at stake. Please avoid ruining the whole website for the sake of few pennies.

I think not at ease, admin should improve. Because day by day glitches will come out from the site so they need to improve to minimize glitches and avoid more complains from the members.
