Should Harbhajan Singh be part of India's playing eleven in T20 world cup? Why?

There has been much talk about how bowling of Team India is weak especially now when our lead pacer Zaheer is struggling both with form and fitness. I think Indian team really needs a genuine wicket taking bowler to boost up its bowling options. And there is no one better than Harbhajan Singh. Bhajji has both the ability and experience to make the crucial difference. And now after break from Indian team, he has come back motivated and is hungry for success. I know Dhoni prefers 3 seamers and 1 spinner as his 4 bowling options. But I'd much rather prefer 2 pacers and 2 quality spinners. Bhajji and Ashwin can work well in tandem strangling opposition batters for runs. Also, he is handy with bat and can hit some lusty blows down the order. What do you think folks? Do share your views :)

I am never a fan for playing 7 batsman, so if you ask me I would support playing one additional bowler. But who will that bowler will depend on the pitch and the opposition. Against western oppositions, I would prefer playing Bhajji as he has tormented them in the shortest form of the game with a tight line and his yorkers. Cheers! Ram

I agree with you. I think we should not mind dropping one of the out-of-form openers and not just nurse individuals egos however big the player. And bring in Bhajji who would be far more hungry to prove his worth and would prove useful with the ball and also can hit some lusty sixes down the order. Also, Pathan as a pinch hitter can be sent up the order and batting still can be good enough to get good score considering the whole team only has to last 120 balls. lol

Unfortunately, we do not have a spare opener in the team. So I think for now it will be Gambhir and Sehwag who will continue to open until and unless Kohli is pushed up to open the innings. Cheers! Ram

I am also not a fan of playing 7 batsmen in t20 cricket. Because the batsmen need to bat only 20 overs. And even 6 batsmen are just enough to do it. Also players like Harbhajan Singh can indeed contribute to the total too .

If India going with two spiners then only I will recommend vajji as a part of India's playing 11,otherwise I will choose Ashwin.

India's strength has been spin bowling and we should stick with it. As it is pacers are going for runs, so having two quality spinners complementing each other makes perfect sense to me.

I too think that Harbhajan Singh should be included in the playing eleven. As you mentioned he is a good wicket taking bowler. And we have seen many times he as a good economic bowler. I hope he will be included in the team very shortly .
