I was looking over a few job searching sites. I found one for my current work, but its not my position but the other part time position.
Its the other girl who got hired when I got hired, she works Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
I know she hasnt dont much while at work, the manager asked me to do a few things that she didnt do.

That's good thing. I know that the manager is testing you, challenging you. Never mind the other one. Just do your thing and perform well. I can feel that this job will bring good luck for you. Promotion or higher pay? that could be possible, hope it will be additional work load without no salary increase. Good luck to us, I'm a worker also, for my family.

So you want her to have more work, but no salary increase? I think you meant with a salary increase, right?

I think you just do your work as best as you can.I think you need not speak anything about the other girl.Whenever the manager says anything related to the other girls work very casually show that her work id undone and leave it to that.he will hopefully recognize your talent and may be give you more work and money.Hope this helps.

I just read your comment 911Ricki, we were posting at the same time. I still think you should ask though, they may be willing to give you a few more hours, after all if it's one less person they have to hire, it helps them too.. plus of course shows your initiative (even more then you already do, as I know you work your butt off).

Maybe you can pick up some of her hours then, has she been fired or you think she just will be soon? That'd be great for you to have more hours without having to look for another job.

If they listed more positions along with it they could just be making it one big post, keep her on until they find a suitable replacement.

I would talk to your boss and see why her job is on the site. He may not be aware of it or maybe she is planning on leaving. I would ask your boss if the position is available if he could hire you since you need a job. I wish you the best of luck.

When someone gets a new job, it is true that the employer is taking a big chance on a new employee. There are times that you will hire a new employee and they will be someone that will live up all of your expectations and more. However, there are other times that the person that you hire will not be what you hoped that they would be and in those situations, that person will not stay on the job for a very long time and soon they will be replaced as the employer takes a chance on a new employee.
