Affiliate Marketing

I really need extra income. My job is slow and at 24hrs a week. I realize it is like that everywhere, but am looking to get into affiliate marketing, and need to know if anybody really makes money doing this, or if I should just ignore the hype. If I can reasonably expect to generate a steady income I am all in. I already do ebay and a few other things, but Ebay is a lot of work with all the typing I do, I am looking to set this up and let it work for me, any thoughts and advice would be wonderful. I sell adult reading as well as products so my fan base is limited, was wondering if I could really generate a decent second income to help out with the bills....

I've dabbled with it, but it isn't easy to do. As of yet, I have not earned any income from my efforts, but I'm hoping to stumble on a good technique that will get people interested in the products I display on my articles.
