A horse kicked me today!

Yes I did! I was kicked just above my right thigh! I was feeding in the morning at the stable. I was taking Taxi out to her pen to eat. She and her stall neighbor,Ginger, just "fight" while in their stalls. While I was opening the pen gate I was letting Taxi eat some grass. Then Taxi starting feeling her oats! She pulled the lead rope out of my hand and bucked! One of her back hooves hit my thigh! I am not hurting anymore but I have a nice bruise! It was my fault not hers! It was not the best of days for me!

Yikes that must've hurt. After years of being around horses I still haven't gotten kicked luckily lol. I've seen other people after they've been kicked and they're left with some nasty bruises that look kind of sore.

I have seen someone who has been kicked by a horse and I bet you have a real honey of a bruise on your thigh! Take care of it....glad it's not hurting anymore.

I got kicked once, and it was intentional on the horse's part, I was lucky I wasn't hurt worse than I was.

It's a good thing that it's not on the face that you were kicked by your horse, my friend. Next time, be careful. Let them be in a calm situation , not like that before you feed them. It's better to be safe than sorry my friend.

Glad it was just a bruise. One of my kids first lessons when working around animals like horses and cows was to give them a friendly pat on the behind before stepping behind them. Just to kind of let them know you are there.
