I think that almost all religions do suggest that we should always love others and that we should extend this offer to our enemies. In short, we are mostly required to love those whose main agenda is to harm or even kill us. Are you practicing this instruction? Do you love or hate your enemy. Please be honest!

Hi Jatelo2, I agree that most, if not all religions teach that people should love their enemies. The problem is that all religions have changed so much from the original teachings that most feel they don't have to live that way any more. Some teach that all that's required is to attend church, others say that you must confess Jesus as Lord and Saviour, what else you do doesn't seem to matter. Religions outside of Christianity have their own reasons for not following the teachings of the one who started the religion. We must love our enemies because we are all connected, all one in the true state of things. When you help another, you help yourself, when you hurt another you hurt yourself. To our way of thinking it is difficult to love our enemies - and it is difficult, I don't hate my enemies but I have to work at loving them. Blessings.

While there are those that chose to see me as an enemy I chose not to have any enemies.

Some religions command this, but by no means all. I feel a deep and abiding compassion for those who elect to make me their enemy, but it is far closer to pity than love.
