It started with trying to ban cigarettes (but the government made too much money of the tax so we just restrict and tax it more). Now it is food in NYC no large soda, no trans fat, no added salt and now on the national level eat healthy. School lunches, the main meal for many poor children, are now limited to about 800 calories. this video shows it best. http://www.twincitiesnewstalk.com/cc-common/news/sections/newsarticle.html?feed=104707&article=10443148 We receive conflicting messages from liberals. It is a woman's body and she can decide what is best for her - Pro Choice (but for abortion only). The government will tell you what you can choose to eat and how much. You do not have a choice in that. This is just one of many protests going on with the liberal eat healthy program. Where in the US Constitution does government have the right to tell us what to eat and how much to eat?

Michelle is way off base on this one. What foolishness. Growing boys and girls need food! One rationale behind school lunches has always been that a lot of kids don't get enough to eat at home, but ironically Michelle seems to be out of touch with that demographic.

And yes, it is a very lopsided political atmosphere when everything is done to keep women from having more babies, and measures are taken to not adequately nourish the ones we already have. It calls to remembrance Obama's comments about not wanting to "punish" his daughter with having a baby.

Another reason I will never move to NYC. Or visit. I don't see how anyone tolerates the government getting so involved with their personal choices. As for the school kids, if school lunches are a main meal or only real meal for poor kids than limiting them to 800 is very unhealthy. Kids need more calories than that a day to grow and functions properly.
