Splice the ties!

Manny V. Pangilinan was an erstwhile staunch supporter of that blue university for the rich along Katipunan Avenue in Quezon City. Not so anymore, after he disengaged himself from the university, citing irreconcilable differences, the university being critical of the mining industry, a business MVP is passionate about. I had always contended that it is courageous to go on fighting for one's cause, instead of simply giving up. Quitting is cowardice. The way I read it, though probably this man is a good person, as many claim, he has his self and his interests priority, for how can one abandon a cause, especially his alma mater, when so many are benefiting from his aide, all because the university, one that shaped his character, is critical of his endeavors. The university better assess its program about how to disseminate the man-for-others program because with this splicing of ties of an alumnus, the program is perhaps a fail.
Reminds me of a spider's story: To whom much is given, much is asked. It is always self sacrifice.

In my opinion, what Mr. Pangilinan has done only showed that he wants the cause to feel the loss of his contribution to the cause. Which is i think , would indeed be a great loss, because of his big contribution when it comes to the monetary aspect.
He should have understood the stand of the university. They are just trying to express their opinions not demanding him about it.
Just because he contributes a lot to the cause, they have to vow to him already!

The university criticized him on three occasions, one of which was plagiarizing Oprah on his thesis. That is a huge offense in the academe. Recently, there was another criticism on the University's journal about his interest in mining, and if we remember right, this was mentioned by Senator Trillanes in his word war with the Senate President. Am sure, there is more on the disengagement than meets the eye. Let's wait and see. No one makes such a move if he has nothing to protect.

Yes, there is really a deeper reason for him disengaging from the association.
At least the association doesn't keep what they have to say against a person, just because he is a contributor to the cause.

Oh well, he can leave the country anytime he wants to. He isn't that much of a loss to the Philippines. There would be other companies, willing to take the place of his companies, whatever they are.

I think an individuals purpose in life doesn't really rely on the school that he or she graduated in.On my own perspective., an individual will achieve success if he really wants to plus the luck part hahaha..Although the school will actually help a person improve what is really present in his whole being, and that if MVP felt like something is going wrong then I think as a wise business man,and a very rich person will do the same. :) Specially if you know deep down that many people will be relying on you financially I guess what MVP did was courageous enough.

Is it courageous to abandon those who depend on you, and these students are scholars, not the have and the spoiled.

Maybe MVP has his own reason for doing so.He can still help those who depend on him with his own charity the man himself has his own sources for helping the students in need specially the scholars.
.And if the school offers scholarship programs they should find more sources to help maintain the schools scholarship program too there are many individuals who were a product of their school not just MVP were in they can ask for help and support in attaining the schools program.
