Sometimes, real life comes with an appropriate soundtrack, just like in the movies...
Today was garbage day. I had put out my green bin full of yard waste, another regular garbage pail with more yard waste, and a large metal paint can full of yard waste, along with the blue box and grocery bag of actual garbage. When I went out to bring in the empty pails, Kim Stockwood's song Jerk was playing on the radio.
Well, they took away the yard waste, along with the metal paint can! Jerks!
This was an industrial size can, maybe 20 gallons. I really wanted it back. Jerks!

What surprises me is that You have varieties of garbage containers .Where do you store them before garbage day ? When is garbage day? I wonder if you listened to Kim Stockwood's song Jerk with ecstasy so that lost your metal paint can.

The green bin sits outside the front steps. The blue bin sits on the porch, out of the way. The others hide out in the back yard.
Garbage day is Wednesday for my area.

they thought that that was part of your waste as well, I never put my cans out unless everyone knows it is an actual garbage can, just to avoid the situation you just had to go through.

I talked to the guys on their way back for the other side, and they denied taking it.

I guess one of them figured he could use a nice 20 gallon metal can. Next time maybe you could attach a big note asking them not to take your can?
Our garbage collection day and recycle day are not the same day. We just have recycle every two weeks. I left some cookies out for the recycle guys one day and they took the recycle stuff and left the cookies. Nope...I didn't have a note telling them that the cookies were for them.

They denied taking it when I talked to them coming back up the street to do the other side.
I guess your recycle guys were afraid they were poison cookies, or something.

They'll take yard waste in non-regulation containers as long as it's neat and tidy. I could even have tied the branches in a bundle but didn't think I'd lose my can.

That is funny, your lucky they took it. Here they are very stingy, and a lot of times they have to be in certain containers such as yard waste needs to be in the large brown paper bags.
