I have this colleague whose cellphone vibrates even if its sound does not put off. It's in her table and when a message is receive it will vibrate really hard then followed by an irritating sound. It destructs me a lot. I want to tell her that but I am afraid she might get offended. There's this one time she left her cellphone at her printer then it vibrated and guess what it fell down. I wonder why she needs to turn on the vibration when she does not put it to silent mode anyway. I only use vibration when I am at a meeting wherein I need to put my cellphone to silent mode. I hope I'll find a better way to tell her it's not okay and that it will just consume more energy.

Well that could really consumes too much battery but its their choice. I used to turn on the vibration of my cellphone when it is in silent mode or when it is in my pocket so I could know when someone is calling or sending message yet the surrounding was so noisy.

It's already quiet here in the laboratory. Even if the volume is just 1 you can hear it already. Anyway, I just hope she will realize that. Thank you for the response.

Yes you have mentioned an important point . If the surroundings are too noisy we may not hear the ringtone of our cellphone even though it is in our pocket. But if it is vibrating we will be alerted about the call easily and we can attend the call. It is indeed a crucial point .

Hi, Turning vibration mode in a phone is really a waste of battery power aside from its irrelevance and, yes, irritating sound. Personally I don't turn it on and I have not used since I have my mobile phone. Maybe if I shall be in super noisy and crowded room or building which is not often for my work is in a very quiet environment.

True sis. Besides the volume is so loud already so there's no need to turn on the vibration. And it's also quiet here in our laboratory. Thank you for the response.

I also put my phone in silent mode if I am in a class or when I am in a meeting. And on those occasions vibration is so good. We will be alerted if any one calls us on our mobile phones. I also turn off vibration when the phone is in normal mode .

I agree with you, vibration mode should be turned off if it's not in silent mode. In that way you will not distract other people around. Sometimes, I was caught surprise buy it and I don't there's an earthquake. Haha. Thank you for sharing.

I need vibration because in collage time mobile is banned in our collage so we can't keep turn it on so I have to put mobile in vibration mode.

There are mobile applications developed that can change profiles at various places depending on the tower that you get signal from. ask her to use such a software so that it'll be in silent mode and vibration on only when it is necessary.

I am sure she already know that. Maybe she just want it that way. I really don't know why. Thank you for the response.
