Time really goes by so fast. Another six more months and my permanent resident card (usually valid ofr 5 years) will expire. I searched the Canada immigration web site to check my options. Since I have been here for more than 4 years, I am qualified to go for a Canadian Citizenship. However, processing time is 18 months. We are planning to go out of the country next March which is also the time my PR card expires. I might not be allowed to enter Canada if do go. I guess the best thing for me to do is renew my PR status which luckily takes only 3 months to process. Another good thing is that renewal only cost $50 compared to $200 for citizenship processing. If you were in my shoe, would you stay put and go for citizenship or renew your PR and do the citizenship later...

I'm from England, two people who were in my Year at School have gone to live in Canada. To be honest I wouldn't want to live there even though it's a rather nice Country. I love Hot weather and could not stand the Bitter cold of a Canadian Winter.

If I had a choice, I would have stayed in the Philippines which is a tropical country. It`s just a better place to raise my kids and also epople here have equal opportunities. I am planning dual citizenship anyways so I can go back and forth. Stay here during fall, summer and spring and the in the Philippines during winter LOL.

Oh ho, i think I would go for a citizenship because as you are not alone, the fare used to go out of the country, you can use the same money to go for a citizenship which is $200 as you said. Then there will be no problem for you. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.
