Matt and I have not gone out for supper in a very long time. We are playing to go to a Peruvian restaurant tomorrow.
Matt likes Peruvian food, I have never tried it. I know once I had a tomali
(not sure how that is spelled) but I can't remember if that was from Brazil or Peru.
any thoughts?

We have Peruvian restaurants out here, but I never ventured them. I did work with a little ol' man who was from Peru - and he always had homemade Peruvian food for lunch (made by his wife). Our workplace had more Mexican people . . . and he told me one of the big differences was that Mexicans ate lots of tortillas but Peruvians were more into rice. He let me try this cactus (nopales, I think) dish, and I couldn't eat it - I guess it's an acquired taste (though I am a pretty adventurous eater and like most things). I've had Mexican tamales (if that's what you mean), but never Peruvian ones. Enjoy your night out!!!

Really? Do you not like corn tortilla chips as well (I'm hooked on those right now!). Or corn bread? I know the "Americanized" tamales have a lot of sauce on it - and I can eat a lot of it . . . but the real ones are less saucy and I can only often have just one.

You have some great experiences with exotic restaurants. To me, going to Sonics is a treat but I can't eat much there now cause so much doesn't agree with me now.

Maybe it was a tiradito...it is similar to ceviche which is a Peruvian dish.
