We are told that Obama Care will be a big improvement in Health Care. The School Lunch program was to solve our obesity problem. The answer is one size fits all from the 100 pound student to the 200 pound football linebacker they all get 800 to 900 calories for lunch. With the efficiency of the government will Obama Care be the same as the President told us? If you have a heart attack, stroke, back problems or a hang nail take a pill and live with the pain?
If they can't get the lunch program right how will they every handle our health care?

Even if the kids do eat the vegetables, they aren't getting a fourth of what they need. Done right a diet like that should have their trays overflowing with food.
Anyone who would vote for the ovomits hate children.

They are fanatics who think what they like everyone should do. It reminds me of the difference between a liberal and a conservative. If there is something a conservative does not like they choose not to do it. With the liberal if there is something they do not like then they want a law to prevent everyone from doing it.
I hope the School Lunch Program shows people how the government can not be trusted. People on Food Stamps can buy all the junk food they want but our poor school children have to eat what Big Brother tells them to eat.

I don't think they will and Obama Care is already driving up taxes and that will happen even more when some more things take effect in 2013. I saw some reports on TV about how much the kids were getting and from what they said, I doubt if they were even getting any where near 800 calories. In addition it was stuff they wouldn't eat and they were throwing it away.

Some schools are interpreting the rules of the School Lunch Program that students can't bring food to school. Athletics are forced to gorge themselves between the end of school and the start of practice. most schools give the students about 15 to 20 mins between the end of class and getting to the locker room to dress for practice.
I have heard from different Dr. that they are being told that there are stiff fines if Dr. do not follow the government guidelines for treatment and best practices. When the government is involved you have to do what they say or lose all federal funding. President Carter implemented a 55 mph speed limit by saying that if the state wanted federal highway funds the state would impose a 55 mph speed limit. In education you follow the federal guidelines or lose all your federal aid. It is sort of like the people who asked the Godfather for a little help once they did that he owned them.
The government (and the Godfather) do not do anything for free. There is always a cost that you only find out after the fact. There is no free lunch.

Bob, I agree, they clearly won't handle it well. I wonder, with their 800 calorie diet, what about the kids they claim don't eat other than at school. So you have a growing child, lets say preteen, who is just about growing an inch a week, is supposed to survive on 800-900 calories a day? Time to fire the nanny (state).
