What would you do if an airline seated your kids next to a strangers? First I would ask them to move my kids to be near me like right next to me or in the same sets of seats with me, my husband or other family members. I wouldn't want my kids having to sit next to complete strangers with out someone we knew being right there next to them. If the airline doesn't do what I ask I would be very mad and upset because my don't know how those people are and if they are dangerous to them.

I ask to know the seat formation on the airline. Typically it can be two on the left, five in the middle and two on the right or three on the left and three on the right. I like to have a window seat and sit next to my daughter. I like my disabled son next to her. He is unable to walk and heavy to carry. For those reasons I like to have him in an aisle seat. If the airline wanted to sit either of my kids away from me I would ask them to sit next to me. I would not want my kids to sit away from me and next to strangers. My son is severely disabled and I am his carer. My daughter is just 3 years old and she needs my care too. If the airline said no I would refuse to fly on that flight.

I would be mad if they didn't seat my next to my kids when I ask them to. I want them to be seating next to at least one adult that I know and trust and never with someone I don't know till they are at least teens.

This is something that is very unlikely to actually have happen. I've flown with my children once (at the time my son was an infant on lap though). For the main part of our flight, we were ticketed in such a way that I had the window seat, Kathryn had the middle seat and Tom had the aisle seat. On the short part of the flight (on a prop job plane) the seats were 2 seats and then an aisle and then one seat. Two of our tickets were together and the third was a few rows back on the other side of the aisle. So, I sat with Kathryn in the two seats and Tom held Paul on his lap in the single seat.

It can happen to others. It hasn't happened to my family thankfully.

I feel the same like you. But I concern about my child may be disturbing for others and therefore I prefer him to seat besides me. As children are full of energy and it is not easy for them to seat and behave well during the flight. So I try not to let him bother other passengers.

True but not all kids are like that some do sit still. That part just depends on the child and if they can sit still are not. The age will affect that of course but all parents know there child better than anyone else. My kids are very well behaved but only one of them has been on an airplane but she sat with my parents and slept the whole time.

I'm a flight attendant and when someone asks me to move them because their kids are separated I just tell them to ask the person sitting next to them. No one wants to sit next to a strange child either trust me so they do usually move. Don't be afraid to ask your fellow passengers to move seats with you.

I never flight because we don't go fare from where we live at all. Every time we do fly in the past the only time it's been with a kid was with my nephew when he was 6 months old and there was 4 of us adults and he didn't have a seat them.
