Princess the crybaby.....

I love that princess is so attached to us and everything and she has really taking a special liking to me a lot. Every she sees me she starts crying and whining wanting to get out and for me to pick her up. She loves to be held a lot and she likes a lot of attention. I've tried to ignore her and let her cry herself out before I let her out to be with the family and eventually she does stop crying, but it seems like its not working at all. I think she's been with us already 2 weeks or 3 weeks and she continues to cry. I've been told never give her attention until she stops crying don't let her out till she stops crying. But I'm like its not working. Anyone has any tips on what I can do. Or am I doing the right thing in letting her cry herself out before I let her. Thanks.
