Do you agree that RA 10175 or the Cybercrime Law, was just created by politicians that are afraid on a fast spread of information against them specially on the coming election.
This law again, benefits them to protect their name in getting bashed online...a very big example to this is Senator Tito Sotto, who is one of the authors and who voted for the approval of this bill because he suffered cruelty online....which means that it will be a crime of expressing ones own opinion, but stealing ideas coming from blog authors is just okay, just like what Tito Sotto did?
Well, I just hoped I will not be penalized and that mylot will not be included in their list...

From the way I understand this law was created to protect the netizen from being harrased, hacked and scammed online. I think that this is the main purpose of the law and to be used by powerful people is not intended. If you would look into the essence of it all it is supposed targeted for online fraudsters not us ordinary people.
The big mistake in this law was the insertion of the online libel law where the punishment was not the same as the normal libel law. I think this is the only one that is being questioned as unconstitutional and not the whole law since the whole law is really intended to curb crimes committed online.

It seems that Philippines want to compete with Singapore with their own version: http://sg.news.yahoo.com/silencethehate/
Do you think we should follow Singapore?

I agree with you, friend. This law is for the advantage of the politicians to avoid any criticism with their illegal activities. They don't want to listen the grievances of the people.
The worse thing was that they did not specifically detailed the scope of the law. That law is in general in form, which might be punished all of us that is using the internet.
What my fear with that law is the online earnings that we are free to earn some money on it. Because a small mistake that we noted on our words will be the reason for us to be a criminal without knowing what kind of crimes we committed but cybercrimes...

Hello Aaabuda, I don't like the idea of being spied on by our government. that is not fair to me, I am only an innocent person expressing my belief. I think I won't vote for every one in the senate. if it's gordon i need to hear his platform before anything else. But i don't feel that bad, i didn't vote for them anyways.
