HD converter box is scrambled?

Last night I was trying to get the kids to mind me and not watch tv when it was time to work on their reading. Well I turned the box off so the light went to red. So we didn't watch tv this morning but when we got home around lunch I turn the box on and it turns blue as usual and switch the tv on. So then all we see is a frame of the show that was on QUBO at the time and then a bunch of computer jibberish cutting across a good portion of the screen. I've tried pulling the plugs I could reach for it and re-doing them. Turned the tv on and off a time or two, even flipped it in the other screens it has. Still shows the same frame of that show we saw 90 min ago. The sound has changed but the picture remains the same. Amy suggestions how to resolve it?
