US Consulate denied security despite months of warnings and attacks

This was not a spontaneous protest gone wild. Even the White House is now admitting this, after spending nine days blaming a movie. And though they are now saying that the president called it a terrorist attack on the day after it happened, it simply isn’t true. He sent UN Ambassador Susan Rice on a round of the Sunday morning shows to insist it was simply a protest over a movie. But this attack did not come as a surprise to the White House. They were warned. A Facebook post on May 22 warned an attack. A posting one month later warned of a specific attack on Ambassador Stevens by name, with photo attached. The same people who are busy monitoring your Facebook and mine, did nothing. The consulate had been attacked and threatened 13 times before September 11. The consulate asked for extra security several times and was denied. Nothing was done despite the evident danger. Four lives were lost. Four American lives. Four lives that the president is supposed to be protecting. President Obama was told of the attack in Libya within 90 minutes of it occurring. He went to bed. The movie? The movie, Desert Warrior, was made by Nakoula Basseley Nakoula and was first screened in June of 2012. Everyone who was associated with its production swears that the 14 minute trailer on youtube bore no resemblence to the movie they were involved in making. The 14 minute trailer was a cobbled together, over-dubbed, deliberate smokescreen. Nakoula Basseley Bakoula is an FBI confidential informant. He turned state’s evidence on an associate in a bank fraud scheme and received a short sentence with probation. He knew the FBI could pull the plug on him at any moment and send him to prison. How difficult would it be to get his cooperation in assembling an anti-Islam movie to put on youtube and provide a convenient excuse for attacks that would be embarrassing to a president who has claimed his foreign policy in the Middle East is leading to democracy and better understanding between our nation and the nations of the Middle East? How stupid would Basseley be to post something on youtube when his probation specifically states he cannot use the Internet? The news today is sickening. There is a cover-up, at the very least. There was collusion at the very worst. Regardless, there is a dereliction of duty that led to American lives being lost unnecessarily. Nixon resigned over less. No one died at Watergate. Do you think the president’s actions or inaction is cause for impeachment? Is it treason if he fails to protect American lives due to his priorities? Is there any reason to believe that Obama puts the interests of our nation or its people above his own personal interest? Does this make you sick?

I watched a relatively recent episode of Law & Order SVU tonight, where Forrest Griffin gets shot in the police station. I screamed at the TV, "How many people need to get shot in the same police station before you idiots increase security?" Someone gets killed there every season. And my first thought is, okay, well, it's only television. It's for entertainment. But then you see it happening with regularity in the real world. Do we expect more from people? I'm not sure what's going on. Perhaps "Obama Increases Security" isn't a headline the White House wants, for fear of it being spun into anti-Islamic sentiment. I don't know. And I'm not going to put the blame on him either. In my mind, he's an empty suit with a great talent for reciting speeches. Others in his camp should have urged the move. This entire presidency is starting to seem like a coverup. I'm not even sure who Obama is, four years in! I watched CNN tonight and saw the tape he made before his first debate last go-'round, and it's impossible for me to tell which guy he is. The well-spoken, even-tempered, humble public servant who's only trying to help, or the silver-tongued, civil-rights-era-evoking, inflection-evolving, moving-and-grooving, big-government-takeover bozo who plays the race and class cards without hesitation. He is freakishly deceptive. But since I can't give him credit for much of anything, I also can't blame him for it either. He doesn't seem to be the shot-caller. He seems to be the pen-holder and the speech-maker.

I am surprised you saw that tape on CNN. Perhaps CNN has finally "got the news" that hiding the news from people isn't going to work, they are getting wise to those tactics. Obama is definitely the front guy for an entire movement and is guided and assisted and perhaps controlled by those who chose him as the front man. He's the guy who looks good in a suit and can preach to the crowds. He is definitely the speechmaker. The pen-holder? Not so sure. Remember we have the auto-pen. They don't need him to sign bills or executive orders...

Despite a few moments of lucidity, like when he said that Debbie Wasserman Schultz was living in an alternate universe, Anderson Cooper is one of the most in-the-tank guys that Obama's got. I am not surprised that his mission was to deflate the impact of the video. Before the story even ran, before the video was released, but after it was announced that The Daily Caller would release it, the liberals were out in force on Twitter, calling it a "lame" story. Politico, BuzzFeed, HuffPo and the Atlantic all had journalists tweeting about the credibility of a story that they had not read on a video that they had not seen. They were softening the blow, they were breaking the fall, they were preparing voters to not see what they were going to see, but to see what they had been told to see in the video. The basic problem is human nature. We're basically lazy and lots of people are content to be told what to think. Until enough people actually care enough to demand better, the majority will be happy with mediocrity and lies. Hey, look at the ratings that Reality TV gets. I can't believe this is the America I was born in. It's somehow surreal.

I was flipping through a commercial break of Face Off or Shipping Wars (I forget if it was 9 or 10 when I seen it), and I caught a little headline that said something about "Full Obama 2007 Tape Released" or some such nonsense. The entire segment consisted of Anderson Cooper gently leading Roland Martin into a great "everyone does it" Obama defense. The only time the other guy got to talk is when Martin's train feed cut out. So while they were showing proof that the tape existed, even if not playing key parts from the tape, they still weren't making "news" out of it. They were providing cover for it. My guess is they were hoping to get out in front of this one to pooh-pooh it and to chalk it up as hogwash before Fox and talk radio got a hold of it. Whether it's damning or not, that's relative to the watcher. But to me, it's just another instance of "Obama" either actually being the real guy he hides or being a fake-a$$ punk who, if white, would be ran out of Washington for such a race-pandering charade. But all that's the main reason why I haven't really been PO'ed at the guy for a long time now. Government in general gets my ire up, but Obama in particular mostly just causes me to scratch my head. My mom's theory is that he has a twin. And I'm starting to believe it.

Obama ignored Stevens' request for more security. Obama actually ignored that there was even a possibility of any terrorist acts occurring because of the anniversary of 9/11. Security was not increased anywhere. We are lucky that there weren't more attacks and more deaths. Anyone could have predicted that there was the possibility of attacks and some probably did, certainly Stevens did, but Obama chose to campaign and to ignore the security of the country and out citizens around the world.

The terrorists announced the planned attacks on a Facebook page. The Libyan government warned our government. It's so blatantly a case of letting others die to protect Obama's reputation as the great healer of international relations.

Yes! It makes me absolutely crazy! And when you mention all of this, what's the response you usually get? George W.. I'm sure hoping more people are aware of what's going on, and how THE issue is the growing $ize, spread, reach and scope of government, opposite of the constitutional protections! than it is apparent know.. Once freedom is lost, it's hard to get back. "Government is not reason; it is not eloquence; it is force! Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master." ..George Washington

When the planes flew into the WTC on September 11. 2001, George Bush was reading a book to some second graders in Florida. When Andy Card whispered in his ear and told him what happened, Bush didn't jump up and run screaming from the room. He didn't want to traumatize the children so he remained seated and calm, finished and left the room quietly. He returned later with an official announcement. The liberals have been lambasting him ever since, saying he already knew, it was proof that he planned the attacks, etc. But where are they now, these liberals who accused Bush of not reacting hysterically enough? Are they even going to comment on Obama going to bed upon hearing of the attack? If they don't, if they make excuses, they are being hypocritical.

I believe Obama has his own agenda and this issue should really make people wonder. He has said that he supports Islam. He has said without apology that he feels the dreams of his father - anti-colonialism, socialist. I don't understand why Americans can not see the train coming at us and Obama driving.

It is a sad state of affairs when the person who was elected to protect and defend does neither. What's even sadder is to see Americans not caring and reelecting such a person.

I heard a explanation of why they did not have security. Obama administration want the revolution to be done without losing any US military lives. If he would have placed marines there, and one would have got killed, we would have lives lost in the cause. This is why there was hired security there, but is was inadequate.

Yes, of course. Because Obama took some flak over his decision to help enforce a no-fly zone over Libya and he made a promise about "no boots on the ground". Because in an election year, doing the right thing might have given his critics something to assail him with, might have been perceived as a broken promise. So instead of facing the nation, saying "I have been informed of a dangerous situation in Libya and the need for security for our Ambassador so I must do what is necessary", he pretended not to know anything about it before it happened, even though he was warned repeatedly. Shawn Smith, the IT guy, was a member of a forum for an online game he played. He posted in the forum on September 11 that he was worried he might not live through the night. He said that he saw one of the consulate "security" (he put it in quotes) taking photos of the outside of the building. The security in Libya was complicit in this attack, that much seems clear from Shawn Smith's post. This security was not only not adequate, it was an accomplice to the terrorists.

You got strong groups out there right? why don't any one from congress files an Impeachment Case and get it over with? we have done that here even though it doesn't always go as planned. When was the last time you had a President Impeached? recently we had a Chief Justice impeached because he was siding with the former president allowing her almost to escape. better do what's right now
