Religion is man made with systems and proceedings that an individual will have to follow,if he is the follower of a particular religion.They dictate terms and condition that according to them is correct to reach the particular God of that religion.You should never hurt the sentiment of any religion because they are all man made and have equal value for all humans.Since they are man made, to reach god,everyone has the right to assume that his customs and procedures are the best for reaching God.So we should never make fun of any religion and their concept of God.And now to talk about God,he is omnipotent and all invading presence.We cannot define God or his ways with our limited Knowledge.One main characteristic of God is unconditional love,which is self sacrificing and will forgive any one who repents truly from his heart.There is no heavenly protocol to reach him.If you are with no friends and insurmountable problems just take his name in full faith and he will hear you and solve it in the best way that will suit him and benefit you with all grace and blessing.

Thanks a ton for such a lovely discussion. i believe that different types of religions have been made by man himself. To be very honest, there is nothing called different types of religions. God is only one and we all are his followers and that means that we all human beings are also one. So what is the need to have distinction between so many religions.
What say?

Yes there should not be so much religion to cause contention ,strife,hatred and disharmony.There is only one god,and let us use his love to heal and to bind mankind with harmony and peace.Let us reach out to each other and show the love of god to each other,rather than follow religion which causes so much disharmony and strife.

yeah i am with you on this one. Religion is man made and some people take it so seriously that they go over and fight over it. As we here so many things happening in this world in the name of religion. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

Hi rubyroy, I agree with you that all religion is man made. I also think that we should respect the rights of others to believe as they choose. It would take some convincing however to persuade me that we need religion at all in today's world. I am not talking about spirituality, but religion with all it's trimmings. I find it difficult to believe that we are merely material beings who live and few years and than go into oblivion, but that is something for another time. Why do we need religion? Certainly not to teach us to be loving and compassionate human beings. Neither do we need religion to teach us to be good citizens. The only religion we need is the golden rule - always treat others the way that we want to be treated. Blessings.

Yes, you are absolutely right, religions are man made, but not God. Religions are like various paths to reach the One. So I agree with you completely. No religion does not mean no God.
