Hello Lotters, Well, for the most days people are panicking towards this new law that has just been passed by our president with the help of the following Senators whom am not going to vote next year. hehehe as if i voted for them last 2010 which i didn't. Despite of angry netizen crowd out there, there are few who thinks that this Law can protect them from cyber bullying.Mega Star Sharon Cuneta believes that this will sway away those who are going way too far and has nothing to do with constructive criticism, even supported by Ciara Sotto, saying that any one who gets urk by this Law is guilty of Cyber bullying. But one in particular, which we have not seen for a long time was Chris Lao. The guy who was marked "I should have been informed" which had so many insults last year. he said in his speech that he lost his good reputation overnight and had a lot of abusive alcohol. some netizens even commented the insult will not stop until he commits suicide though, I could have doubt the Mega Stars remarks along with Ciara because some how they are close to Senator Sotto, I find it very sad for Mr. Lao to hear those sentiments. I never thought some idiot would insult and wants to have him commit suicide..that's wow for insane in my case. I will watch over this case as time goes by, to see if it does protect us from cyber bullies. last 2010 some one actually maligned my picture, but i had reported it in facebook and had it removed. I still have doubts on how are they gonna track down local people who is violating this law.

Tell, you what, despite their CyberCrime Law, they won't be able to fully implement it if they don't have the necessary resources to keep the law. Where do we get those resources then? You need a base of operations, people to work on tracking these CyberCrimes, program to help people track the CyberCrimes, security over the network, a lot of databases and mainframes, and etc. Where will you find such resources? Yeah, we can find it here and now. You can even order those hardware almost everywhere. But wait, where will they get the funds? Of course from the people. That means quite a lot of tax money allotment. One mainframe costs a fortune. How in heaven can we afford those? We can't just do things like we normally do in the real world like, if someone was harassing you, you can just report it to the police? Online is very different from the real world.

Hello Sinful, I agree that it won't be fully implemented easily, let alone computers and internet that needed to be use in order to trackdown these netizen culprits and harassers. speaking of computers, reminds of that pc's and headphones that were never use during the proposal for a call center officer for a Phil version of 9-11 office. but that still leaves hanging with out approval from the court. they need more funding on this thing.

@Sinful Yeah I believe so, I hate to say this but I guess most people who were going to take this job and work for the government will just simply enjoy his/her time surfing the net. Well I have been in some government agencies and believe it or not some people who we thinks we can rely in finding answer over internet are those people who just waste your time because instead they work and improve their skills this people enjoy the government free internet by chatting and surfing all day work on the net. I have this scenario were in a government employee that supposed to be helping solve a crime wasn't that enough knowledgeable in using the system to track down someone but he is very useful when you asked him about Facebook. What does that mean?

All I know is, knowing the government's being slow and all that. Cybercrime is still a very weak law and I'm not sure all the government can afford the resources to implement the strict details of this law. I do think that going to prison for 12 years is absurd for speaking your mind out.

Hiya LK, Although this has nothing to do with what you are writing about well it has but it does not adhere exactly. A few weeks ago I was online looking for a good mobile phone with a decent camera and I found a page where someone commented on the persons choice of mobile phone. Offensive was the least adjective I could give it to the comment they left at the bottom of the page. No one should be afraid of negative comment but this person went over the top just about someone´s page. Fifty shades of envy and hate I would have used to describe the persons stance toward an innocent page. Again I was on where I sometimes post and why they allow the comments they put on there when they can get them deleted I do not really understand. Just an example of what ordinary people can do the harm they can do but its a good job that other millions of people will never believe it.xxx

Hello lovingangelsinstead21, that problem should have handled by the admin by blocking or deleting that persons account rather than allowing it to flood the comment queries. most ordinary people are uneducated with things about. before i used to flare up when ever there's issues such as this but sometimes we need to be more careful and analyze things

Hiya LK, Should have been but I don´t know what happened as the comment is still there and if it would have been my page it would have been taken off for sure. I don´t get mad anymore but I did feel for that other person with just an ordinary page trying to get somewhere in this life.xxx

The problem with the internet, is that there are too many people from around the world not just the Phillipines who might be like this. It would be nice if there was more they could do to Stop this, as it is not right, but many times unless they know for sure and can Stop and maybe block them, and put them in jail, etc. people like this are hard to stop. But someone mentioning they think the one person will not Stop until the person kills themself? Wow!! Not a good comment, and do they not think this could be used against them someday?

I hope it will stop a lot of cyber crime, though I doubt it could stop all of it.

I don't think this will work for high technology we have today specially through net, we can even hide our IP and create fake account as many as we can so how do they figure out whose that person is, though IP? there's so many ways on how to hide IP. They think people are so stupid to use computer, why don't they ask those computer savvy or those with high degree in computer on how the system works here. That is somehow stupid for me.

Hello homeshoppers, not really high technology but smart geniuses who makes programs and protocols from preventing them from being hacked.I don't know how really is going to be done. the people don't have confidence of it as for now. maybe i don't even have the confidence, but rest assured am not a bully online.

There are too many proxy sites. You can even hide in multiple proxies. I don't think the government is that committed to catch cybercrime offenders. They would only use it as a legal tool when the opportunity to take advantage of it comes.
