Recently, I really like to sew with felt, as felt is not too expensive, and it's thick enough and good to keep stuffs in it. I have made some toys with felt, such as bread, doughnut, truck, car, finger puppets, and some small accessories. I also made a wallet for my son, a tissue bag and needle pouch for myself.
I have just made a little pink car for my son, to play on his map that we drew recently. I am also making a first aid kid bag for our home, and going to make some more felt food.
It's so much fun to make toys for the little ones and also make something useful for ourselves.

Hello
kaka! I used to work with felt! I was taught to work with felt when I was 12, at school, we did pillows, and toys.
Later on, when I got married and had kids, I made pillows, toys, calendars, and Christmas and Halloween ornaments. They are so nice
. And working with felt is also a nice therapy, because you have to slow down, calm down and be patient. Don´t you think so?
Blessings

hi dainy,
That's so nice of you to learn craft making at such a young age. Well, I started to learn to make all these crafts last year, because I want to make some toys for my son, and also because I've read about Waldorf education that craft making is very good for children.
I agree with you that working with felt or any craft is really good therapy.
I wonder how you made the calendar...

Hi
kaka, I`m reminding me that it wasn´t a calendar
: It was an ABCD. On the wall of felt I put the letters and below each letter a small bag, and in each bag a representative toy for each letter.
There has been almost 15 years of that. Children play no more with them but I still have some little felt toys of that ABC inside my cloth drawers, just to remember those days.

Only thing you can't do with felt is wash it...but other than that...it is so flexible and usable and totally universal! No hemming! Cut and sew! Have fun making all kinds of things! And glue is also great on felt!

Hello my friend kaka135 Ji,
Well, you mind is full of creations and you should make use of this, who knows , you may find one day running good bussiness and working from home. Producing something from nothing requiers lot of creativeness. Congretulations. This way, your son of 3.5 yrs too will find busy and develop his skills.
May God bless You and have a great time

They look great, what a great idea using up all the odd bits of felt.I think that it is great that you came up with such great ideas in how to make many different nice looking things.I use to like to make clothes for my daughters dolls and see them get their dolls all dressed up, a lot cheaper than going to the shop.

I have a friend who makes toys for her critters (dogs and cats) and she also makes toys for her regular clients she pet sits for. She fills the cat toys with catnip and doggie treats for the dog. It is cheap and the animals love them. I going to make Christmas stockings for Randy, my brother and my three cats. I am just learning how to sew and quilt and it is a lot of fun. I have three projects I am working on for quilting and am hoping I will get them done before Christmas.

I had gotten a lot of felt for some project that didn't get done. However, because I had the felt, and the roomie had the idea of making "stockings" for the family.
Well, because we were making them, I decided to make them special and after proposing the idea to the roomie, she jumped right on it.
We made tennis shoes for the teenage boys, cowboy boots for the gals and old fashioned high top ladies shoes for the two adult women.
This included an insert so we could tie up the high top shoes and tennis shoes.
These were a BIG hit.
Donno what happened to them tho - probably the roomie's idiot dad threw them away.
