I bought the GE's panini grill from Walmart last weekend. Priced at $49.96 it came $20 cheaper than the one in Costco. This 4-in-1 grill is so easy to use and easy to clean too. It comes with 2 pairs of grill plates. You can make open and closed dishes on it. The plates come off the grill and you can clean with, dry and put them back in a click.
Trust me, I hate complicated gadgets because they take up a lot of time. By the time you figure it out, your enthusiasm wanes. When it comes to cooking, you want to use simple yet efficient appliances!
I have made grilled cheese sandwiches, used multiple varieties of vegetables and cheeses with the bread and it comes of perfectly every time. Though the instructions mention a preheat time of "up to 10 minutes," you do not need to do so..Here's what works -
Oh and of course, do not plug this grill directly. Always use an extension cord. Turn on the grill before you begin to assemble to sandwich. This saves time and preheats the grill for you. Then, take four pieces of bread, spread some marinara sauce, add some (read more!) cheese, roma tomatoes (sliced), chopped bell peppers, salt and pepper..
Put this filling on two pieces of bread and close with the remaining two slices.
You can make two great grilled sandwiches in less than 10 minutes..Its perfect for tea, breakfast, lunch or dinner time. If you have unexpected guests, you can make your perfect Italian BLTs on this too

Hello
rs1982 some days ago I posted a discussion about how boring could be the daily cooking routine
. It seems that this appl may help us to vary cooking routine.
I have a sandwich grill, and reading your discussion I`ll clean it and use it. Thanks you for the advice.
In your 4-in-1 you need panini bread?
Blessings

Hello Dainy!!
Glad you liked my post. I do not need a panini bread for the grill. I use regular sandwich bread. I also use the french bread that we get in Safeway..the frsh loaf that they bake at 5pm! In fact..I will even try a stuffed tortilla in it..am sure it will turn out fine..I guess..as you say, we can pep up cooking if we are mildly creative..I for one, die for variety and taste in meals..even a simple snack should look attractive ..that's how I feel..
Good day friend!!
