If You Could Proficiently Learn....

If you had the ability to proficiently learn any musical instrument in the world and have it definitely happen, which ones would you most want to learn? For me, I guess I have just have three I most would: the piano, the harmonica, and I guess the guitar. I actually bought a keyboard a few years ago but unfortunately my level of ability never really progressed too far for various reasons I won't get into. I'm actually planning on buying a harmonica on Amazon pretty soon to start learning to play. I've always wanted to learn to play the harmonica since I was a kid. Recently I just decided to finally buy one and give it a shot. As for the guitar, well, that's just a standard one I'd say lol. Does anyone else here have any that you would love to learn to play?

If i could learn an instrument proficiently it would definitely be the guitar as I find the idea of being in a rock band quite cool.I did try and learn the guitar once but a combination of being to lazy to put in the necessary practice and not much talent meant i didn't keep it up.Maybe i will have another go sometime but i don't think I will ever be a god of rock.

Yeah, I had the same idea with my keyboard when I bought it in high school, though guitars naturally are the first thing most people tend to think when they think "rock bands". There was a part of me that loved the idea of starting a band. I always "blamed" the Bill and Ted movies lol. With the keyboard/piano, my problem always was that I always need batteries (I have a keyboard). Once I really get going and start really getting better, the batteries would run out and it would take me a long time before I'd get around to getting more. By then, I more or less would have to relearn stuff I did previously. It's a cycle I do need to break.

I already know how to play the guitar a little bit, so I'll concentrate on that until I'm actually good. I do agree though, the guitar IS a standard one :D So next, I'd want to learn how to play the violin. I've always love the sound of the violin; I find it a very 'emotional and sensitive' sounding instrument, if you know what I mean.

Yeah, it really is a standard one, isn't it? lol. The violin is a good one too though. I agree on the sound!

i would love to learn to play the guitar. it's one of the few instruments that's easily carried around. the other instrument i would love to learn is the piano. i have an aunt that taught piano. so when we visited her, she would teach me. i just couldn't keep the lessons up when we were at home. :( now, she no longer teaches piano lessons. i still live to far away.

The piano was the second one I started trying the learn. The first one being the trombone though that one wasn't necessarily just for fun though. I haven't played it in quite a long time though.

Hello there. If I was given a chance, I think I will go for either the piano or the guitar. I do have a very basic about how to play the piano but am absolutely clueless about the guitar. My younger brother, who is the lead singer in a band here, did try to teach me the basics about the guitar but I couldn't grasp anything. It was way tougher because of the fact that the the strings in the guitar used to hurt my fingers. I know that sounds absurd but it is true. Once I cut my index finger while trying to play it. Still I very much want to learn it.

I'm the same way with the piano. I have a basic understanding of it, but that's about it. My problem has always been once my keyboard's batteries ran out, I would wait too long to get around to getting new batteries and by then, I practically would have to start over. It's a habit I do need to fix, I guess lol. For your fingers, you should get a guitar pick. It probably would make it so much better!

Hi DJ! I really wanted to learn how to play different musical instrument. I also started learning how to play the guitar but because I am really very busy with my job, I could not devote more time for the lesson. I've only learned the basic but hopefully I can still be able some more.

Yep, well as the saying goes, we all have to start somewhere! Good luck to you on learning to play it.
