I love fall photography

Over the course of my life I have grown to really like fall. Over the last couple of weeks I have been noticing the leaves changing from the brilliant green to the brilliant hues of yellow, orange and red. This has really inspired me to take my camera out and start taking a lot of landscape pictures. They are not my normal photography subject, that is typically my children. As fellow photographers, have you seen something in nature or otherwise that has inspired you lately? Do you find that you leave your typical niche on a regular basis?

When I used to live in a state where we had seasons I remember how striking that fall foliage could be. I do love photography and some of those autumn photographs can be absolutely striking. Like you, I usually photograph my children. But at times I do like taking photos of landscapes, the beach, nature, etc. We live in South Florida now so really no autumn colors or falling leaves to speak of. Thanks for your comment and have a great day!!!

It is true that you don't get all four of the seasons in Florida. I actually have to admit that not really having spring and fall is the reason that I would have a really hard time living in Florida or in the desert areas.

The colors of autumn are great on film. the explode with the dynamics of their shades and colorings. no othere season gives us that crispness of color as the the changing from summer to autumn brings. To capture that workld on film is extraordinary.

Well, I have to admit that it has been years since I've had a film camera, I prefer to use a digital camera. However, I really do think that you are right that the colors of autumn and the light of the sun during the autumn season are perfect for wonderful and magical photography.

A couple of years ago I got the neatest photos of the trees in Wisconsin. I usually take a trip to see my friend there and her hubby takes us on a drive to see the trees...well from what I understand this year (I go next weekend) it will be too late. I do get some of the greatest photos up there....one morning last spring when I was driving back home it was frosty and I got wonderful pictures of the trees etc. covered in a think frost....beautiful.

I lived a year and a half in Wisconsin when I was a child. I still can remember the beauty of the trees in Fall. I have never seen such a palette of yellows, oranges, browns and greens. Awesome!!!

Right now, I think that the fall leaves are nearing their peak at this point in time in my opinion. I would love to be able to go out this coming weekend and take a lot of pictures of the trees and such. However, with my son's birthday being this weekend, I just don't know.

One of the things that I find that I love the most about nature photography is that it is something that is very different depending on where you are in the world. We live in a decidiuous region and that means that we do have some brilliant fall colors in the fall, some very barren trees during the winter and beautiful flowers during the spring and summer. Photographing the seasons is something that I've come to really appreciate in our region.

You should post some of your fall pics on myLot! As we are in Southern CA, we don't seem to get a true autumn. In some areas we get fall colors in the trees, but nothing like the photos I've seen of brilliant autumnal colors of nature like you mentioned. The leaves mostly get kind of yellowed and brown - and just fall off in the winds that come by around this time of year. I guess I don't really have a photo niche. Like you, I mostly take photos of the kids . . . mainly so my hubby gets to see what he missed during the day - and to record the life of our kids. In the past few months since we moved here, we've taken photos of "nature" in our backyard (which is fun for us since we didn't get that being at the apartments all this time). We take a bunch of photos of the "visitors" we get here - like the squirrels, hawks, pigeons, doves, butterflies, weird bugs we've never seen before - all kinds of critters the kids love discovering. I will say for a while there I was taking a bunch of photos with part of the motive being I could "share" on Facebook. But then that got kind of old . . . I feel like being a little more private recently.

When it comes to sharing photos of facebook, this is something that I will only do very occasionally. The reason for that is that I've heard of cases where people's pictures are stolen and I don't want that to happen to me. However, I do share all of the digital scrapbook layouts that I make on facebook because it would be difficult to extract the pictures out of the layouts and each and every one of my layouts is very important to me.

Well, although I am not very fond of photography, to the present day technology has allowed me to have the camera directly to your phone. SinceĀ  my cell phone I carry with me always, it happens sometimes that I find myself in front of a landscape, a scenario, or a "something" that gives me the inspiration to take a picture. I love photographing people also, but it is not possible due to privacy!

I do like the fact that we are able to have a camera with us all the time because of the changes in technology with cellular phones. However, for me, I have to admit that I would really rather have a little point and shoot camera with me at all times. I need to get a new charger for mine though.

i really like taking pictures but haven't lately but i so know what you mean. i love the leaves this time of year and because we have had some cool nights, it has made the leaves turn into brilliant colours! i will definitely have to go for a walk and shoot some pictures. i tend to take pictures of anything that looks good to me. i really am interested in architecture, nature, my kids (of course!). i tend to be pretty creative in regards to my picture taking when i get a chance.

I really like to be creative in my photography endeavors as well when I have the chance. But oh how I wish that there was a way that I could just pull my car over on the side of the highway and take some pictures of the beautiful trees going toward the river. I'm afraid that I would get hit if I was to do something like that.

Every time I go in the Fall to the Northeern Hemisphere, I stand in awe at the beauty of the leaves of the trees there. Our trees in general do not have those leaves that turn their colours because our trees do not have deciduous leaves.

I guess I always just assumed that you had the same kinds of trees where you live as we have here and you all had the brilliant colors in what I would consider to be spring. Wow, I guess I really need to visit the southern hemisphere at some point in my life.
