Sell or donate, but never burn books. Even old and unreadable books could be recycled and turned into writable paper or something useful
. But if it's in good condition, donating would be a great thing to do. It would really help those less fortunate.

A short list of places you can donate used books--but never ever burn old books. Book burning is reminiscent of censorship and the times in history where governments have burned books simply because they did not like what those books had to say. Books are a source of knowledge and freedom. Don't burn books.
Okay, here's the list:
Local libraries, school libraries, used book stores (might even pay you for them), hospitals, nursing homes, thrift stores, homeless shelters, jails, just to name a few ideas. Or even keep them and build yourself a great library of your own.

I have had quite a big clear out of my own home recently, and one of the things that I chose to do was get rid of some of my old books. I have a charity shop near my home, and I thought that it would be a very good idea to donate the books to the shop. I took them in and they were very happy to have them, which I was certainly pleased about. Another thing that I like to do is go to car boot sales and sell the books that I know I am not going to be using anymore. This means that I get a little bit of money that I am able to spend in whatever way I wish in the future.

I will donate several of my books too. But I have to sort them out first. I will show my friends and family what I have and maybe they will want some. Then I will type a list to show to the nearest public library. I have many books that are a must read for teen at school. Then I`ll make another list of my literary theory books and see if the university library wants them.

Donating books is the best solution.
You can help other kids who doesn't have money to buy a book or those who loves to read but cannot afford to buy reading books.

That's a good decision. I never thought about donating books to an orphanage, but it's a good idea. Until now, I gave books to two different libraries and to a family whose daughter like reading. Some books I also sold online on different sites. But I never never burn them.

Donating books is a great idea--there are so many places that can use them--libraries, schools, daycares, senior centers even hospitals or doctor's offices. Even selling books is better than burning them or throwing them away.

Oh, please don't burn your books. It is much okay if you donate it. If you are my neighbor, I will going to ask you some, lol. I really love reading. I still have some collections until now and sometimes I reread it because I have no chance of buyin now

Yeah it is better to donate it than burning it or throw it.
Selling would be an option too the fact that the books where just at home and collecting dust.

Please don't burn your books. What you no longer need will still benefit some other individual. Donate it to charity please. Old books remain to be sources of information and knowledge which will benefit some child whose family may not have the budget to buy new books. If there is something that has helped me in this life, it was books. I consider them my best friends my companion when I want to reduce my stress.

I strongly recommend donating old books instead of selling or burning. Books are sources of knowledge. So books should not be burnt. Instead they can be donated to those who are in need of those books. You can also donate books to school libraries, college libraries, public libraries etc.

Hello,
When I was young and a high school student, I am very blessed that I belong to those children who was able to received and who was able to used old books from a distant relatives. Indeed, they have plenty of all kinds of books and it was given to me as gift before I entered high school. It did help a lot with my studies and I owe them a lot for their kindness. During those days, we were not be able to buy those kind of books. So I think it could be a charitable works if you donate your books to the deserve less fortunate children.
