What can you do to make your profile page work for you?

When I sign in, I usually go to the bottom of my profile page to see how many new people have come to my page. Right now I am not happy with the numbers. What do you think I should do to make my profile more attractive to visitors?
More importantly HOW do I do it?

The main problem is getting people to look at it. I do not see a real reason for people to look at myLot profiles too often. I usually only do to see a gender if I refer to them in a discussion OR friend requests. Also once in awhile to see what discussions someone has, if I liked one of there's before.
There aren't many other reasons to view the myLot profiles.
You could put the link to your profile in a traffic exchange. I don't know why though because if it is for the banners on your page - you can get more by putting the banners than the profile probably?
Any way if you really want to pursue this for another reason that I am unaware of - just be active daily in myLot. My number of views increases then.

That sounds like a good option to try for referrals too. I need to think about these things more often! Silly me!

To me, I think it's how we interact through discussions with other members here which bring them to our profiles. Our posts, username, or avatar should make them curious enough to visit our profiles. The more often we are here, the more people will have a chance to get to know us through our profiles.

Bringing in the visitor is not so difficult but to keep him interested is. What to to have these people come back for more.
Like, for indtance, I keep changing the videos and posts. But that is about it, I would love to do more.

Sorry, I misunderstood your point when I first responded. Thanks for commenting back to clarify this and after reading all the other responses/comments below me, I understand what you were trying to get across... Obviously, I am just a simple and plain user when it comes to profile page. Everything on mine is probably just the site's default options; I did not do much to add, change, or enhance anything... Sure, I'd love to learn ways to make it more interesting...

I do not see how the profile page can really help a great deal. I tend to visit a member's profile page if they make a friend request in order to check what type of subjects they tend to prefer, but the design does not make much difference to me. Although it does make me think that the member is serious about Mylot if they have taken the trouble to amend the design.
It is obviously preferable to make your own profile page attractive, but it is a matter of personal taste as to what you consider looks good or not.
As for how to change the page colours and layout, I set mine several years ago and quite honestly cannot remember exactly how to do it now. Nevertheless it is not a difficult task because they are help prompts to assist you as you amend the page, so just take your time and follow the advice given.

I obviously misunderstood the meaning completely because I assumed that you were referring to how it would work for you in respect of increasing Mylot activity.
I now realise exactly what you mean and mysdianait's profile page demonstrates this perfectly.

Some of us, who use other online earning sites, use our profile to promote them outside myLot. It is free and, unlike other sites, there are no restrictions (except for the use of scripts).

I have made some changes to my profile and do tinker around with my avatar. I have adde videos and sometime back I learnt how to post here, using a web editor. I am not keen to make back ground, font changes. I want to make my profile interact with the visitor and maybe, invite him to other sites that i wish to promote.

I don't really visit my profile page that often and because of that don't really give it much attention and vice-versa but there are profile pages here I have seen that are attractive and obviously have been well-designed and maintain. I like most of it. If you like to redesign your profile page I'm sure there are members here who will be happy to help.

Hi fannekhan! Perhaps you could invite more friends so that they may come to your profile page. You could also start discussion regarding your profile, like asking how to make it attractive or giving information about HTML. Most of us do not know how to edit our profile page actually.

That is a good idea but friends connect and after the first contact , nothing happens. Lot of myLotters have loads of friends but hardly any interaction with them.
If I told you it was simple to edit the profile page would you be interested in learning? Most people are not keen to learn new skills.

I am not paying attention with these visitors, my concern is that when I do discussions it has to be responded by my friends or any user here. Doing discussions is more important to me as I can interact with users here, exchange views and opinions.
