My Immune System Is Excellent - But Not Perfect

So this is day 5 of my sore throat and cold. I've been trying to take it easy all week and for the most part I have. Today is Sunday; I've been home since last Tuesday. For the first time since last week, I took a short drive to a couple of stores in my area to pick up a few things.
Here's the cool part. I didn't get cabin fever. I think I had a bit of a body fever but no cabin fever. I truly enjoyed being home. Having pets helped tremedously. They are a great company.
Another thing that helps is that I work with my husband and he didn't have any problem with me taking time off.
I know that it may sound like getting sick is a whole bunch of fun.
Well, not really. It was pretty dreadful at times but my surroundings were quite comfortable.
My advice? When you don't feel good, find your quiet, comfort zone and keep everyone away as much as possible.

Aww, hope you get better soon. Your immune system is excellent, even if you got sick. It helps to make more antibodies to fight off whatever you have right now so you don't get it again...or if you do it will be much milder.
That's so nice of your hubby to be compassionate about your illness. That always helps instead of someone nagging you to go back to work.
I can find my quiet zone now because my kids are grown...I feel sorry for people who have little children..that's rough. They're too small to understand most of the time that you need your rest to get better....but that's life. Been there, done that!

Hi and thank you. Yes, I am feeling better. I only get this about every 2 years or so. There's not much to complain about.
My husband has been great. He's always great.
I know what you mean about people with small children. Yikes, that is so very hard. It's nice that you have your quiet zone. Enjoy.
That is a beautiful cat on your avatar.
We have so many kitties, I wouldn't know which one to upload.
Anyway, have a great day and thank you again.

I agree. I used to be fed up and be b*tchy whenever I am sick, and I get to my own nerves that way. Now that I am older, I try my "sick" days to be as pleasant as possible. It's bad enough that I am not well, making it worse isn't going to help at all.
I do noticed that lots of people are getting respiratory problems this time of the month. My siblings are coughing and my dad's got sore throat. Good thing none of them have fever but still they have to remain at home to make sure that they don't spread it or make it worse.

Hi Raine38,
Yes, we live and learn. That's good that you can make the best of your sick days. Quite frankly I don't mind the down time at all. Of course, my energy is down also. I can't get much of my to do list done.
That is very considerate of your family to think about not only themselves but others as well. Staying home and not spreading the illness is certainly a kindness on their part.
Thank you, too for letting me know about respiratory problems. Sometimes I don't know it something is going around or if I'm the only one who gets sick. Most likely something is going around.
Well, it's not the end of my world and I'm alive to see yet another day.
Things can always be worse.
Take care and thank you for responding.
