Did you care to know the meaning of our national pledge when you were at school?

It was nothing but a daily routine for me when I was at school. I didn't even know its meaning then. Now I feel like I should have told that from inside the heart. India is my country and all Indians are my brothers and sisters. I love my country and I am proud of its rich and varied heritage. I shall always strive to be worthy of it. I shall give my parents, teachers and all elders respect and treat everyone with courtesy. To my country and my people, I pledge my devotion. In their well-being and prosperity alone, lies my happiness. Jai Hind.

Hi ravi. First, if you don't mind, I would like to ask if you were in Kendriya Vidyalaya. I am a KV pass-out and feel it was a part of every KVians life. Every day in the morning assembly after the prayers we had to take the pledge. We, in school, used to make fun of the part which says "all Indians are my brothers and sisters." It was just a part of some friendly childhood banter. Nothing serious. I hope this offends no one here. I, myself, am an Indian and super proud to be so.
