Navjyot Singh Siddhu a 49 year old Member of Parliament requires no introduction. The former Cricket player of yester years who was known for his batting having quit the cricket joined Television channel as a commentator. He was a successful commentator and was famous for his one ‘liners’ in his commentary which were fondly known as ‘Siddhuism’ by general public.
Apart from his cricket he became popular for his shayarana ‘Siddhuism’ and he has acted as Judge in Laughter Challenge on TV show along with Shekhar Suman where he entertained the audience with his typical ‘Sidduistic’ one liners.
He was elected as the Member of Parliament in Lok Sabha elections in 2004 representing BJP and had to quit the seat as he was alleged with a case of ‘Culpable suicide’. There after he again won elections on BJP ticket for another two times once in the bye elections and another was in 2009. Now he is a Current Member of Parliament representing Amritsar Constituency representing BJP.
Navjyot Singh to the surprise of many people was seen as one of the contestants in the Big Boss Television live show competition in the Season number 6. This is a live show by ‘Endemol’ where the contestants are kept aloof in a room for three months. During these three months they are practically cut off from the external world. The winner from the participants are decided by the audience Votes. The winner of this show gets an attractive gift of Rs. Ten millions (minimum) together with the fee a decided by the company per episode. That means one can make good money just by participating on this show and staying there for some time.
Now the point is that if the move taken by Navjyot Singh Siddhu in the capacity of MP justifies his action? He is a responsible MP representing a constituency and he has got a big responsibility of representing his constitution in the Parliament. There are few questions about which I am confused - Will his absence form his duties for 90 days won’t hamper his career as MP? The other MPs of Congress and BJP are not happy with his move. Has Siddhu shifted his priority this time from politics to purse? Will this change be acceptable to the people? Can he get himself reelected from his constituency on BJP ticket in next Lok Sabha elections? I would be highly obliged to know your views on this topic! Thanks!

Rao ji,
To be very honest I have great respect for this personality. I think he proved his brilliance wherever he worked. I have seen the shows where he was a judge along with Shekhar Suman, when I saw him first time, I thought, as a cricketer what he is doing with this show, but on watching the same I realized who he is. I really like his non-stop talks whenever he appeared in television. I too aware that he is an MP but didn't much aware about this activities in politics (may be am not interested in politics or politicians).
Regarding the topic, I don’t know about this particular show too. But let me ask one question, how many leaders are available in parliament for all time, many going for different places for long time, and we hardly know about their programs or their unavailability in the parliament. We really don’t have any idea about our representatives where they go and what they do once they got elected, media is giving much importance when they visit other countries officially or they involve with any nasty acts.
What I felt, if he chosen to participate any such contest, he would have given his responsibilities to some other for sure. Truly I don’t have any negative thoughts on him.

Hello Dear Srikala! Meeting you after so many months! How are the kids and your better half? Now coming to the discussion, Yes there is no doubt that Navjyot Singh is a great man and he knows his job and he excelled in every thing so far in cricket and Comedy shows.
He got elected so far thrice from his constituency, that speaks out about the popularity of this man and also about the trust and the faith the people have on him. Yes, I agree that there are many MPs who are not attending the Parliament for several days. That is a different issue as these facts they don't come in to the light. But in Case of This person, it is openly known to very one that this man will be kept aloof in a house for 90 days continuously where he will be practically cut off from rest of the World. He won't be given a cell phone or Newspaper. he won't be informed about any thing happening out side the House.
Though I too don't have any negative feelings against him as a performer and as an individual, but I feel in the capacity of MP he should have given a thought before taking up this assignment as this is giving an impression to the people that he has done this for the sake of money. As per some people his priority seems to be the money than the Country and its welfare!
Thanks a lot for the response! As usually I liked it and I sincerely appreciate your participation! God bless!

Once for a few minutes when I got a chance to stand next to this great man, trust me, dont go by the fact that he is an Indian Politician, I realized that he is a real man, who can laugh at himself. He has is own rules, lifestyle and such a clean heart with zero ego and tonnes of humbleness. Maybe this is what made him select and opt for the Big Boss. He should be the best entertainer and being so warm he will be a good host too. I dont have any idea of this Tele Show but I am sure, whatever it is, it is blessed to have him as a contestant.
I am one of his big fans and would support him anywhere except politics as I see or rather think that politics is a wrong place for this gentleman.

Hello Sids! I can understand your feelings about this person! There is no second opinion about his jolly nature and sportsman spirit! He is a man who can easily laugh at himself and he is a simple hearted man with positive attitude! He is humble and polite and he is doing very well so far on the show!
He will remain as the favorite candidate for many spectators and frankly speaking I am also one of those! He is almost taken up the house and he is spreading the positive aura in the house now!
There is nothing much I can say after hearing your views about this man as a politician after reading your concluding statement! Let us now hope that this man will entertain all of us with his funny one liners and jolly nature! All the best to him and lot of thanks to you for responding!

During the time he is participating in this show he will not be entitled to allowances. An MP can serve through his employees also. However as an MP he need not opt for such long duration when he will be away from constituency.
in which tV is this shown.

Dear Ravi Sir! Yes, it is understood that he won't be entitled for the allowances during the period of his absence and it is also understood that he can serve the Parliament through his employees also.
But how far it is ethical for a responsible MP to leave his constituency and also the Parliament and keeping himself aloof in a closed room for 90 days?
What sort of message he is trying to send to the common public? The people from his constituency are not happy with him. They feel that he is doing this just for the sake of money, as the show people pay handsome amount to the participants per episode and at the end the winner gets minimum of One crore in Cash as the prize money!
This show is shown on Colors TV (Channel 111 on dish TV set Top Box) at 09.00 pm. Thanks a lot for your response!

Well i do not know about others but i am glad to see Sidhu inside Big Boss as i have always enjoyed his one liners and his coming timing. he is one of those guys who can make everyone smile with his funny talks. i am sure viewers will appreciate his participation and would vote for him. i do not find any logic in the allegations of BJP raising about his participation in this show. he should be least bothered about this and should enjoy his stint with the show.
What say?

Yes, there is no doubt that he is very good entertainer with very good sense of humor and wt! He is famous for his one liners and every one enjoys them. He is popular for his funny talks and gestures too!
There is no second opinion that viewers will definitely like his presence on the show as it will make the show interesting or them. Even he will be given votes also. But he point here is as a responsible MP representing BJP from the important constituency like Amritsar at this time when elections are fast approaching, Is this gesture of his be justified in the interest of party and the people of Amritsar?
He is having a big responsibility of looking after the welfare of Amritsar
