Should I get a tattoo for my birthday?

I know what the mums on here will say. Don't do it as you will regret it later! Though I have been thinking about exactly what I want for a good few years now and I don't want anything massive or crude or anything. I just want a little tree spirit called a kodama from the anime movie princess mononoke about an inch and a half wide somewhere. Not sure where yet and my boyfriend says he will get it for me. I do worry that you can get HIV and AIDS from getting a tattoo though is this true? Does anyone know? I am pretty sure I know what I want just not where to get it done in terms of my body or which shop to go to get it done.

sounds like a nice tat if that is what you want I waited till I was 35 for my fisrt an only tat an I thought long an hard on what i wanted cause I knew i would have it forver an people's interest change so whenever I got I wanted to make sure it was something I would be into when I still had my tat when I am 85 an being native American an being proud of my heritage I settled for a dream catcher on my ankle I have thought about getting another on my wrist but not sure about it I want it to look kind of like a bracelet with Celtic Knots around the wrist an on the top of the wrist a Pentacle I am wiccan an don't that would change either so I can stand looking at that til I am 85 but not sure if that is a little to much

Firstly, providing that you go to a proper tattoo shop there is no way that you would be able to catch anything from the needle as they use new ones for everybody who goes into the studio. However, I think that you need to think about whether you want a tattoo that is going to stay on your body forever. If you have thought about it and you are sure that it is what you want then I think that you should go for it and get it for your birthday, because there is no better occasion to treat yourself so you might as well make the most of it.

I have been thinking about it for years and it would only be a small one not in the direct path of any ones vision I don't think.

It's up to you la . I mean since you want to get a tattoo , just listen to your heart .Although it doesn't look that good when you get old ... If you don't mind seeing that tattoo on the loose skin . And it's okay even though .Coz you could ask the doctor to get it wash . Do sth you are willing to do before getting old . It's always right .

Well kodama are pretty simple so I don't think that even slightly wrinkled skin would do any harm. I also have ridiculously pale skin and moles so all that would be required is an outline really if I can fins some that are close together enough to have it where I want.
